It seems that everytime I play a game, I find an advisor screen that I want to BUG-ify. I've worked on the victory conditions (F8) and overhauled the graphs / charts (F9), the BUG members have also reworked the military advisor (F5) and we've even got a work in progress on the tech screen (F6). During my last game, I realized that we could really improve the religious screen (F7).

So, I guess I am starting this thread to keep track of the advisor screens and how BUG had modified them. I'll be continuing the theme of having individual threads for each screen as that will help to focus the ... errr ... focused.

So, after release 3.5 (or 4.0 ... whatever) is out, I'll post something on the religious screen (and the corporations screen too as that is probably just a straight clone of the religious screen).

F1 - Your Civ info - BUGified but I still want to add the option of using the HOF F1
F2 - money - BUG has done nothing
F3 - Civics - BUG has done nothing
F4 - Foreign - BUG has done some work (Glance, Info)
F5 - Military - BUGified
F6 - Tech - work in progress
F7 - Religion - BUG has done nothing
F8 - Victory Conditions - BUGified
F9 - Stats - BUG overhauled the charts, nothing to the other tabs

A couple of things which I recall being requested/suggested:

F7/Shift-F7 (Religion/Corps): Johny Smith's screens with scrolling and different display options useful in mods that add extras.

F9: Using the layout from Zervers Stats Tab. I've also had some ideas of more columns (such as a "current" building column since the "built" ignores all the stuff you got free from captured cities.)

Espionage "Advisor": All kinds of extra info maybe from a new tab or two. I still intend to work on this someday.

Another idea for the religion screen suggested in our threads was to show the true effect of switching religions: :culture: (already there), :science: from University of Sankore), :gold: from Spiral Minerat, :hammers: from Organized Religion (already there).

He's already created a MainInterface file for BUG 3.0. I'd really like to see that become part of BUG, as well as the scrolling corporation screen. Having the two things in place will allow people to add any number of corporations into their game.

I took a look at JS' F7 screen, and apart from the scroll bar at the top - what else has he added? I couldn't see the 'different display options' - am I missing something?

I am thinking of having a single panel to list the cities, a 'goto' city button, dropping the 'star' for the capital and spacing out the religions (al la EF's scoreboard). I find it particularly difficult to see how wide spread my multiple religions are - especially when getting them all spread around for cultural victories is so important. Some Civ-wide stats on religion impact as per EF's comments above make a lot of sense as well as a summary of how spread it is within your civ ... something like 5/12 if it appears in 5 of your 12 cities. Oh, and a missionary count too ... '2 [1]' would show 2 current and 1 under construction. And (gee, getting carried away here) indicators if the temple, monastery, culture mult-building exists in the city too (will change this as user hovers over the religions).

I believe his different display options are actual separate versions of the file you could install rather than a single screen that could be switched on-the-fly. While I haven't looked at the code, I hope that they could be combined fairly easily to base their behavior off a config option.

Nice. The two things I've thought were the most noticeable omissions were seeing how the religion is spread in other civs' cities (assuming they are revealed to you) and either a more gridlike display or a way to sort the cities so you could easily and immediately tell which cities lack religion X. Your spacing idea might take care of the latter.

That's exactly what he's done. Each one comes in it's own folder and you have to choose which one you want to install. They all have the scrolling screen though.
