BUG components

I know that many components of the FFH BUG had to be discarded a while ago due to causing problems. I just want to know if the ones I REALLY miss are easy to code in without trouble... they are:

1) the power rating display next to each leader you've met ( "strong arm" icon ) : invaluable to make sure you're not a sitting duck :D

2) the little resource icons next to each leader that let you know they have those resources available for trade: oh, I loved these so much. they make your life so much easier, cuz you don't have to check each leader for available stuff every now and then :D
 
I don't remember the resource icons. I just remembered the Power rating and Attitude. I would imagine that the resource icons would have made the scorebar HUGE since it is quite easy to have more than a dozen resources available for trade. Doesn't it mention if they have a new resource for trade in the text stuff at the top of the screen (I know it mentions gold, open borders and technology)


I would encourage other people to list parts of BUG mod (still active or not) which they like in this thread. We will eventually be writing the entire thing from scratch to make it work for FF instead of BtS, and to be considerably quicker. So knowing which features are enjoyed by the players means we don't accidentally cut them.
 
One thing I really miss is how you could display both the civ name and leader name together in the scoreboard and (I think, but its been so long since it works that I'm not sure) when another civ mentions the rival in diplomacy. When you have multiple versions of the same civ under different leaders (for instance, if Minister Koun is in the game) or when you play with unrestricted leaders I find this almost essential. I hate declaring war on the wrong rival.
 
the scorebar didn't really get any bigger, it just showed the icon if the resource was one of those that you didn't have already AND the leader was willing to trade it. that way the icons stay there just for a while and they're never too many ( I think the max I've seen for one leader was 3, so no big deal ).

and yeah, indeed it would be awesome to have an alert "leader X has resources Y,Z,Q available for trade" just like it is with the technologies. :)

Speaking of this, does the "You refused to help us in wartime!" go away if you declare war on their enemy?
 
Yes, it was cut since a LOT of the components didn't actually work for FfH world (like all the information on F1) and quite a few were causing bugs (mostly the PLE). Instead we are now going to write each function which WAS good from it for ourselves. For now that means bringing in Civ4Lerts (ok... we imoprted that one straight up again, but this time it was JUST that one, and it is generic Civ items, so they still pertain). Going to get the GPP Bar in the main Interface back sometime soonish as well, then later the attitude/power indications on Scorebar. Not sure what all else was really of any use.
