The Beyond the Sword Unaltered Gameplay mod (BUG mod for short) "combines mods that do not change the basic game play of CIV, while adding flavor and ease of use," allowing individuals to spend less time searching for information and data and more time playing the game. Streamlining and enhancing the Civ4 interface, the BUG mod makes the map view, city screens, and advisor screens more user-friendly.

The BUG mod team has released its newest version, 3.6, which adds the following features, to name a few:
 • In-game dot-mapping tool for laying out city BFCs
 • EventSigns shows effects of random events on plots
 • BUG Charts lets you view multiple charts at once
 • BUG Finance Advisor with detailed line items
 • Min/Max Commerce Rate buttons for binary research
 • Field of View slider
 • Improved Foreign Advisor INFO page
 • Smaller multilingual installer with more options
This mod is especially useful for those who play succession games or other community-based games, but it is handy in a variety of situations. To download this latest version, which is fully compatible with BTS v3.17 and works with existing saved games, see this thread or go directly to the download page.

Wow, sweet! It's officially news-worthy now!

I figured that it's good to showcase some of the more popular mods every once in a while with an announcement of their own. :)

I've seen mention of this mod, but I guess I've just stuck with the HOF mod because I play GOTM and need that. Is it possible for BUG and and HOF to coexist? How would installation work if so? Is there any advantage to using BUG on top of HOF if that is possible? Are there any overviews/collection of screenshots of BUG in general?

I checked the linked forum and didn't immediately see where I could find answers to these questions in any of the stickies.

There are help files attached to the install but (IIRC), they don't have a lot of screen shots.

Re HOF - check here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=304842

Re Screenshots - we probably need to update this. We are starting a wiki but it is going slowly. I have this (http://www.freewebs.com/ruff_hi/BtS Unaltered Gameplay Mod Approval Process.pdf) but that is BUG v2.1 so it pretty outdated now.

Thanks for the reply!

My read of that thread is that you cannot use BUG when playing GOTM games, if you do & then submit them, the GOTM staff will reject the submission.
