Is it possible to complete the 1st Maya historic task (to discover writing and mathematics by 600AD)? Tried to do it on different game speeds - with marathon speed seems like was not even close, on normal speed was closer, but don't think it's possible though. Does Mayan unique power works?
I cannot select the second option because it requires me to run the "Organized Religion" civic and I am running the "Clergy" civic.
Since they are more or less the same civic, shouldn't the required civic be appropriately changed to Clergy?
I am also seeing a lot of quest rewards disabled lately, especially ones related to state religion. (No screenshots, sorry)
A tiny CivPedia error that may have been long resolved already, but I couldn't find the exact keywords in this thread. So reporting just in case:
DoC 1.15 released version,
Civpedia, National Wonders, has the bland description for the backstory: "TXT_KEY_BUILDING_NATIONAL_MONUMENT_PEDIA". Goes also for "...NATIONAL_COLLEGE_PEDIA" and "...CENTRAL_BANK_PEDIA".
Sorry for my word choice, I just meant bland as in "not really interesting", "not worth reading". It's just the text key instead of its mapped content. I suppose they were renamed, like from "oxford university", and the text keys no longer match.
Also in the release: When building siege units in cities with a castle, there is still the green tooltip that they will receive +2 EXP from the castle, when castles are already obsolete. They don't receive this extra experience, which is fine, so maybe that tooltip could be removed as well. P.S.: Forum search function gives me no matches for "castle siege", but "castles siege" finds some posts about it.
I don't know, I just searched for the exact TXT_KEY_BUILDING entries, so maybe someone already told you in another way.
Oh, so there is no text at all. I don't think the existing texts from the base game can really be reused, because they were much more specific (e.g. about the actual Oxford University as opposed to a generic National College). So it's just like that because those pedia entries haven't been written yet.
When I try to use the TortoiseGit Pull, I get the following message:
"error: Unable to create '.../MODS/RFC Dawn of Civilization/.git/index.lock': File exists.
Another git process seems to be running in this repository, e.g. an editor opened by 'git commit'. Please make sure all processes are terminated then try again. If it still fails, a git process may have crashed in this repository earlier: remove the file manually to continue."
Is anyone aware of how to get around this? The file ".git/index.lock" doesn't appear in the folder...
I got it a couple of times as well. Go to the mod folder. Click on the navigation bar and add "/.git". (For me, the navigation is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\RFC Dawn of Civilization\.git") In that folder you will find the file index.lock. Simply delete that file.

The file isn't there. I gave up and just reinstalled everything, because that's how easily I give up on such things. (The new version did have the file, though.)
