Is there a bug with lauching nukes ?

When I push the red button the cursor turns to a hand, but I can't get a tile to light up or click anywhere to launch it. The UN has not gotten in the way yet.

Also anyone else find that they can play pass the 2050 year limit. Not that I'm complaining. The game counted down with the number of turns left and passed 1 turn left and then the notice stopped appearing.

Thanks.

Did you declare war?

Indeed I have. I just retested it by declaring war with 2 civs and still the Nuke hand turns back to a normal cursor( left click or right click on a square).

Do I have to change a civic to something more in line to blowing people up ?

Maybe you can't launch nukes after you win the game. I've tried launching before 2050 as well but no luck. I didn't have them built by the time I won the Domination victory.

Indeed there is a bug with nukes.

On one of my game tryed to use ICMB, it said in the info box that ICMB has detonated but there was no visual effects and the city targetted didint suffer any damage.

I saved/loaded and messed with graphic options and suddently there was a detonation and everything was fine :goodjob:

I don´t know how to reproduce this, but it is there since one of my friend just messaged me and told that he had exactly the same problem.

I have had the same thing happen. Have Nukes and hit button to launch and it sounds like they do but nothing happens.

Well, one thing I know about nukes that frustrated me for a while is that a nuke's Area-of-Effect cannot hit any friendly target (including your own spies in a city, land under your culture, or any combination of this - this might include a friendly or Neutral Civ having an invisible spy in a city!). If you have a spy in a city that you want to nuke, you have to move the spy out of the city at least 2 squares.

Since a nuke will hit the targeted square and all surronding tiles, you cannot directly hit a city with friendly culture borders directly along the city. This will cause some cities to be untaretable with nukes. For example, the city in your pic that was completely surronded by anothers culture could not be hit by a nuke unless you were at war with both that Civ and the Civ who's culture bordered it.
