for some reason my civ3 version, its like none of this fancy conquest stuff, its just plain ole' civ3, everytime one of my cities throws a party cause they love me so much, it says dictator intead of hte correct governmental leader position. its more annoying to me then anything....anybody have this happen or know why...
now...i do have the beta patch...but i don't remeber this ever happening before:confused:

Sounds as though you may be running a scenario. 'Dictator' doesn't appear anywhere in the standard game as far as I can tell. It does appear in at least one scenario.

the standard version doesn't have senarios dude

Hey! I may be old and senile :old:, but as far as I am aware, any edited .bic file is a "scenario" in the vanilla version of Civ3. My old copy includes a "scenarios" folder, and there's at least one .bic file in there that defines "Dictator" as a leader title.

PS. Is "Dude" a term of affection or abuse in the US?

Your getting a Dell!...

I'm not an expert in US-English, but what I understand, it can be both depending on is talking to who.

I think it is also regional. In the Midwest (where I am from), it would be offensive or just plain strange. Perhaps if you are from the West, where there are actual cowboys and surfers, it is different?

For more on (The) Dude, see also the fine movie, The Big Lebowski.
