I got the cool saying down. Well I stole it from Israel but I can't figure out a way of tricking nations into attacking me so that I dont look like the bad guy. Anyone know how?

Make constant demands, and generally piss them off.

Wait til someone asks you to cancel all deals with them, then agree, that usually pisses them off also. Declare war on their friends, trade with their worst enemies, reject all their demands, use a different religion, and leave your cities on their border (apparently) lightly defended.

Make yourself look weak.

If you have alot of money defend your cities with warriors then upgrade to axemen as soon as they approach. Then let the slaughter begin!

Try to avoid having any military power. One trick you can use is to have units being built in your cities. When they get to the last turn, start building another unit and pack the previous one into the queue. When you're ready to fight, you'll have dozens of units in all your cities just moments away from being ready to attack, yet your actual military power will be quite low. That way, when you start really annoying them, they see what they think is an opportunity and take it.

this is a good idea, but isnt there a decay rate for production that is in queue? sometimes, i skip to another build and if it takes too long, when i come back to finish what i was building earlier in the queue, the production has decayed a great deal or is set back to 0 hammers. anyone notice this? i bet someone knows the decay rate.

edit. here is what i found through search.

From GlobalDefines.xml :

The modifier BUILDING_PRODUCTION_DECAY_TIME has a value of 50, probably meaning that building production starts decaying after 50 turns.
The modifier BUILDING_PRODUCTION_DECAY_PERCENT has a value of 99, probably meaning that building production decays at 1% per turn.
The modifier UNIT_PRODUCTION_DECAY_TIME has a value of 10, probably meaning that unit production starts decaying after 10 turns.
The modifier UNIT_PRODUCTION_DECAY_PERCENT has a value of 98, probably meaning that unit production decays at 2% per turn.

I don't know if the decay rate is taken from total production cost of the building/unit or from already invested hammers. But that could be tested easily if someone wants to know.

I also don't know if these modifiers are adjusted at the different speed settings (epic, normal, etc.).

This sounds like a great strategy! I shall definitely employ next time I have a Protective leader (preferably PRO/CHM like Churchill) Thanks to minmaster for the decay rate info. This is good to know as I will have to really piss my enemy off quickly before the decay takes hold!
