C2C - UEM - Ultimate-Earth-Map 100% MOD and SVN update compatible by Pit2015

OK!! With your Recommendation, I will proceed with my Washington game with revolutions and fires. Because I really want to see what your Map of Asia looks like, I will start a new game with Genghis Khan as a ruler. Question: Am I now playing a UEM Scenario that includes a Space? The way I see it from your Instructions, I believe that I am!!! Thank You so much for all of your hard work in creating such a large and accurate Earth Map!!!

You can see which buildings and other stuff that reduce the revolution progress by hover over the revolution progress bar in city if i remember correctly. Positive and negative stuff that affects the revolution progress or reduce it. Revolutions is also cool as it keeps you from conquering to much to fast. Larger empire = more unstable empire = more revolutions. You first need to counter that or integrate the conquered population first or you have to improve your civ if you want to conquer faster. So revolutions affects the game in many cool ways and is more realistic.

For fires you should not build to much buildings that increase the fire risk or get techs and build buildings that reduce the fire risk. Sometimes its better to not to build to much fire risky buildings in a city without fire protection.

You can enter the worldbuilder in game, then you can see the full map, UEM 5.8 has the space part included on map.

Very Cool!!! I am going to start New Games with Genghis Khan and I think also Frederick to commemorate my German Heritage. I have had a habit in the past of playing C2C and other Civilization Games with Lincoln, Washington, FDR, and Teddy Roosevelt and there is no reason why I shouldn't do games with all International rulers, so now I will have 5 C2C games going at once, which should be loads of fun!! Always looking forward to the new SVN!!!

I myself always play WITH Revolutions (it's somewhat harder, but also FUN, since it applies to AI as well), I merely wanted to help you play the way YOU want.
Speaking of AI, I'm continuing my Random Duel map test run still.
Already halved the list of civs to a bit above 20 (from initial 40) - but Revolutions make them REAPPEAR, loool!
Well, I'm feeding all my captured cities to Mongols now (basically a random choice, but also because of HORDE, lol), and Mongols now regularly get revolts that result in reemerging old civs.
So, yes, Revolutions is FUN... when it's biting the AI's ass and not yours, mwahahaha!!!

This is what I am doing now. I am continuing my Washington game exactly the way that Pit2015 suggested that it is most fun for him to play. I have also started new games with the rulers Frederick, Genghis Khan, and Solomon in which I tinkered with the level of difficulty, revolutions, and random events so that I might be able to proceed with those games more rapidly, without having to frequently reject the terms of the revolutionaries and rebuild buildings that were destroyed by fire. In my regular C2C games, I always play for the Mastery victory condition and my goal is not whether I win or lose to the AI, but to discover all of the Tech Tree and discover and colonize as much of the Universe as possible. In these 4 UEM games, I am playing for a Conquest Victory. I have included an early and a late regular C2C game so you can see how I like to play.Tell me what you think; I am always welcoming of other player's and modders' opinions! Updated to 7/13/24 with Washington having been replaced by Lincoln on autoplay for 200 turns!!! Solomon is my favorite game among these 6!!!

Well, I always play WITHOUT victory conditions, lol. Yes, you can turn ALL of them down when starting a Custom Scenario. So you just play for fun, not for a goal.
Okay, I do have the goal of "ruling the world", usually by eliminating everyone, but it's really "optional".
Also, I never play to "research everything", because that's... way too LONG even on Ultrafast. Or boring, since you need a lot of micromanaging in order to have a functional empire.
I rather tend to fool around with "lesser" goals, usually nothing actually achievable (like "catch all of the existing Animals", lol).
This is kinda the "problem" of C2C - it's both too detailed and too vast to be a sufficiently FINISHABLE "goal-oriented game", unless it's "rule the world" in some way (that one is EASY, lol).
Which is really why I'm so upset that there's pretty much no chance for there ever being a merge between C2C and RFC - because THAT would've been something truly massive.
Additionally, and way more generic, I'm upset that it's currently impossible to make Civ let you "gather meat experience progress" between the games.
Like, you win a game in a certain cool way - you get some bonuses for your next game (read: your "personal civilization").
If anything, this is a feature that is quite sadly very fitting for a "Civilization" concept, yet is utterly inapplicable in the actual game design (for now).
But that's off-topic, sorry.

I am still learning all of the ins and outs of C2C and definitely just a beginner with the UEM Scenario and as I improve I will increase the difficulty to keep it challenging while still not giving the AI a high probability of beating me. I don't like Losing a long C2C game, it seems like wasted time to me...

C2C has a rather low chance of LONG games being lost, or you can just go back an auto-save or a few, in case you are suddenly ambushed by a Barbarian Horde made up of Alien Mechas (lol).
I usually can see whether a game is worthwhile or not in the first 100-200 turns on Eternity - and it's still rare to entirely give up on any setup, actually.
Thing is, C2C is so vast that it deceives you into confusing what your Game Goals should be - these are the things you must LEARN first in order to actually enjoy the game.
Is your CURRENT run a case of "conquer the world by force"?
Or maybe you are trying to "assimilate everyone peacefully"?
Or maybe you don't give a crab about anyone else and are planning to "catch them all on animals"?
Or maybe something else entirely?
ALL of these require VERY DIFFERENT strategies from the very BEGINNING.
Especially on slow speeds, but even on fast ones you still need to PRIORITIZE before you even start the real game play (but not before you see your map and resources, lol).
To sum up, I think that "defining THIS GAME'S goals" is the skill that is the MOST important one - and only then comes the "HOW" of it.
Or so I would say, while you are absolutely free to have your own approach, maybe a totally different one.

I am going to continue playing my Washington game according to Pit2015 recommendations, but I really don't like revolutions and constant fires. I play this game to relax and not to be frustrated by nuisance problems. Other Games; Solomon, Genghis Khan and Frederick on Noble difficulty and going very well, Thank You Pit 2015!!!

Well dont conquer to fast as you dont made your empire not ready and dont build buildings that increase the fire risk. :) Game is about to try to survive if you set up with my challenging nightmare difficulty settings on first page. So its hard, but you can select a lower difficulty setting.

Maybe to add into C2C mod:

Mystery of Cyprus's Terracotta Army: Larger and More Extensive Than China's Army of Qin Shi Huang

Okay, I know I'm doing something wrong but I have no clue what. I'm using the latest version of C2C and UEM, but I keep getting this error when trying to load the scenario.

Is it because I'm not using the SVN version of C2C? Or is it because I'm playing on Steam (Beyond the Sword Original Release)? Or is it because I'm not using the Latitude mod (where is that mod, anyway?)

Also, what's SVN, and where's the Latitude mod?
C2C SVN is now miles away from C2C v43, loool.

Okay, where's the download link?

GAH!!! What am I doing wrong!? I'm using the latest SVN version of C2C, I'm using the latest version of UEM, I'm using the Latitude mod, I'm using the Steam Beta version of Beyond the Sword, the map should be loading correctly... but it's not!

Did you do a CLEAN install for SVN?
As in a totally CLEAN folder, NO overwriting of anything?
Not sure about the Latitude mod issues, but NON-CLEAN installs are the most usual culprit with C2C and people failing to read about it.

Yes I did. I even uninstalled Beyond the Sword and deleted the relevant folders in Steam and Documents before I reinstalled it. EXCEPT NOW THINGS ARE WORSE!!!

I managed to get the ModDB version of C2C working no problem, but I can't get the SVN version working at all! I put the (unzipped) folder in the Steam folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos) and it doesn't show up in the modlist at all. I put it in the Documents file, it does show up but, while the ModDB version loads, the SVN version crashes! EVERY!!! SINGLE!!! TIME!!!

WHAT IN GOD'S NAME AM I DOING WRONG HERE!?!?

I admit playing a non-Steam version, so I'm not sure how the Steam one works, but it was definitely explained somewhere in the main thread.
Try THIS: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/for-those-who-use-steam-to-play-c2c.639734/

Latest SVN breaks the Latitude mod. Can I play this map without it?
I don't even use it, lol, and it plays fine.
You'd probably just have some weird "animal encounters" like "kangaroos in America" or so - and some "localized" Wonders being wonky or unbuildable.
That's by far NOT the biggest issue to be wary of.
