C2C - UEM - Ultimate-Earth-Map 100% MOD and SVN update compatible by Pit2015

I thought it was something like override to font size, so if I set smallest font size to "13", then it would become "15" on larger resolutions for example
There are no overrides, the pixel size given to the 5 font sizes in the theme file are the pixel sizes available regardless of what resolution the screen is set to. 13 pixels are obviously much smaller on the screen when the game is set to 4K res than what it is when set to 1280x1024.

@Toffer90 keep in mind what you are doing (rescaling stuff for different resolutions) is something not even big devs do because it is a major undertaking that require constant bugdixing as there are a lot of different resolutions (see attachment). Usually they pick one resolution (either 1366x768 or 1920x1080 for more modern games) and work around that. So thanks for all this. :)

I understand that point kation and therefore, early in the modmod development, I picked 1920x1080 as the resolution I "perfect" and focus on while adding in as much support as I can for lower and bigger resolutions, the further away from 1920x1080 you get the less "perfected" it of course becomes.
I've pretty much from the start decided that I won't care much for the 1024x768 resolution (which is the one SO insist on using on his widescreen which I suspect is above 30 inches big. [Sorry for nagging about it SO, I just can't understand it.]).

The restrictions the exe puts upon me also makes it harder to accommodate resolutions far away form the one I focus on in the modmod.
Let's stop bogging up Pit's thread with this topic. :mischief: ^^

Didn't @strategyonly said, that he DOESN'T have widescreen, and has only old monitor/graphics card, that supports only 1024x768 if not much bigger resolutions?

No, SO has a very up to date Computer. He uses the 1024 resolution because of his Eyes. Something younger ppl generally don't think about, uinless afflicted in the eyes. 1920 res is too hard on his eyes.

Using 1920 on my Comp I have to use 1.75 or 2.0 reading glasses to read any print. Now regular game graphics without print is good.

I do understand the part about eyesight, but don't you agree that one should use a resolution that fits the screen (not be stretched more on one axis than the other to cover the screen)?
Some resolutions that fit a 16:9 screen are:
1280x720 ▬ 80 * (16, 9)
1408x792 ▬ 88 * (16, 9)
1536x864 ▬ 96 * (16, 9)
1664x936 ▬ 104 * (16, 9)
1792x1008 ▬ 112 * (16, 9)
1920x1080 ▬ 120 * (16, 9)
And there are many in between those too.

I'm not saying SO needs to use 1920x1080, there are many alternatives that are good, I'm saying its incomprehensible to me that he insist on using a 4:3 resolution on a 16:9 sized screen.
1024x768 ▬ 256 * (4, 3) when he could use:
1360x765 ▬ 85 * (16, 9) or
1376x774 ▬ 86 * (16, 9) to get a picture that is not distorted such that everything is wider than what its supposed to be.

If a resolution I have listed is not possible to select in-game then it is fully possible to set a custom resolution in the civIV .ini file that will work.
I use 5:4 aspect ratio resolution.

4k Screenshots... if text size increase will go over the graphic borders it will not work, look the textsize at citys labels on main map, its using all space in the graphics/interface already on larger resolutions, if the graphics will be automatically be enlarged by font size increase it may work, otherwise 2560 x 1440 is the best resoulution on large screens now. I run it now on a 85" Samsung TV 214 cm diagonal size.

Ok, but dont explains the missing blinking text at turn end.
If you can check the Options for End of Turn Wait. This new change thru PPIO may have turned that off. And if it did then you won't have that missing text at turn's end.

Is it a big problem?

I removed it as it was annoying.
There is a blinking green button (called "evil eye" internally in the code ^^) that always blink at the same time as the text used to blink, thus I didn't see a need for the text in addition to the evil eye indicator.

Interesting .....

Yes but not for me. Ok, removed is ok. If it was a font bug it will be not acceptable, but removing the text is ok. :)

"Evil Eye" for addicting gamers hmm? :crazyeye: Well one turn more... i know Sid Meier is here and doing this all with us secretly, he is addicted too... :) And now think about who is Sid Meier here?

I remember reading many years ago in a magazine article (before civ 5 was even announced) where the reporter wrote that Sid Meier liked to check out mods of older iterations of Civilization as he really enjoyed how fans kept his older games alive.

Not sure if that's true anymore, but I believe without a doubt that he at least tried some version of C2C in the past.

I'm flattered though.

I certainly enjoyed our visit SO. Hope to see ya again someday and anyone who plays c2c should visit if yall head to Vegas.
