c3c 1.02 patch issues

i downloaded and ran the 1.02 patch for conquests. the install program finishes, but when i start up the game, the version is still listed as 1.00. is this just an error in not updating the version number display, or is 1.02 patch not working? i can't try 1.01 as is there is no english version for it (as far as i know)

any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Since the exe file wasn't changed, the version will still show as 1.00.

has anyone noticed a problem with upgrading units in this patch or with conquests in general? with iron working, barracks in city, and iron available, i coudlnt upgrade my warriors to swordsmen. but later on it let my upgrade the warriors directly to medievel infantry. a similiar thing occured with the...new alphabet ship.. curdagh? at one point i coudlnt update them to galleys. never found a reason. any ideas?

and thanks for the responses about the version-printing on the main screen. kind of annoying that it doenst update. maybe the next patch will be more complete

Did you have enough gold? If you don't have sufficient gold in your treasury you can't upgrade.

i had enough, and it didn't even ask. the upgrade button wasnt available, and when i hit u or shift u it said "we have no *blank* that can be upgraded!"
very odd.

Since you can't see a new version on the game, is there a quick way to find out if you installed the patch correctly? I think I did it, but I want to be sure.

If strategic resources are linked by a harbor, and there is an enemy boat (barbarian?) blocking the trade route, you won't be able to get the resource to the city you want to upgrade. (It seems the barb's do this often to me, it may be a new AI improvement feature)

If you didn't see an error message, it should be installed correctly.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it. 1.02 is a very minor patch. You don't even need it if you are running the North American version of C3C. The new BETA patch to be released this week is all you need.

no one was blocking my iron, i definitely had it. i think i might just reinstall civ 3 / conquests, i think this may have occured after the 1.02 patch, and then just get the beta patch whenever it comes out.

I think the upgrade costs are more in C3C. I think 3 gold per sheild compared to 2 in PTW. If you did'nt have enough gold then you would'nt be given the option to upgrade, when you click on the unit.

I think a warrior-swordsman upgrade costs 40 gold in PTW, so i guess it would cost 60 in C3C.
