C3C is 'dead' ?

AW boils down to some differences from the normal game, Strict AW means declaring on contact, where relaxed allows trading and then declaring. Strict means all research on our own except free tech from the GLib. Keys tend to be findng iron and horses, cutting losses by building artillery, and careful city placement. You will learn to be a better warmonger, mostly, but the management aspect helps your regular game.

The building priorty is completley different, I imagine you can't afford your self to spend production on buildings too much because you need military, and you need tonns of military .

I play AW, Regent difficulty, wiped out 2 civs, in war with 4 civs, 3 of them active and the troops keep coming over and over again . It's hard, I guess an SG will be more successful due to more heads working on one empire :P

OverSeer, feel free to get it started, sign me in even though I won't be here this weekend .

I learn more from the SG's than I do from the war academy.

A tip: you might also want to try the old GOTM spoilers or the SGOTM discussion threads. Lot's of useful stuff to learn there. (And you can even download the .sav files that go with the game and try and play on a bit using the information you just read...!)

I'm a monarch/emporer player and having never done a SG would be interested. (also never played AW!)

me too, although i am a regent/monarch player

In my opinion, Civilization III was the best Civilization thus far. I'm really hopeful that Civilization V will stay true to the theme of the first three games, and be a little more realistic and less stylized and cartoony as Civilization IV.

V doesn't even have square tiles

(i will probably get it though)

Its up, if anyone wants to see the start, or even join, possibly.

could you post a link ;)
