Oh well, so much for the distraction. Here is the real invasion.....
... disembarking 4 Catapults, 1 Army of Immortals, 12 Heavy Cavalry, 7 Immortals and 9 Numidians. So the citizens of Maronea say goodbye to the world.:(

Attacked some big stacks of Macedonians. Constantinople held (just barely) but they are down to 2 badly wounded Hoplites. I lost 2 heavy cavalry.

SW of Constantinople I attacked a stack of hoplites, heavy cavalry and swordsmen. They were all wiped out (along with another heavy cavalry next to them). I lost 2 heavy cavalry. Everybody else got back on the ships......

Macedonia burned Constantinople.....

2 Macedonian hoplites and a swordsman killed in the hills west of Constantinople.

Yakodi, you did an exemplary job of guarding your coastline, but workers don't count when stopping invasions. As a result I dropped another massive army of troops next to undefended city of Thebes.

Ooops - just another silly mistake.:(
You never stop learning ...

Carthaginian forces have land on Corsica and liberated two Roman slave workers.
We have also made a landing on the toe of the Italian boot. We captured a Roman worker and attacked a Garrison unit guarding the coast. The Roman unit was bombarded by catapult then defeated by a Cathaginian Swordman.

I made the "worker defending the coastline" mistake too :)

The chartaginian forses in italy where attacked by 3 catapults, 2 legionares and 6 cavalry. We lost one cavalry, two other were seriously wonded and the enemy lost 4 numidian mercs, 1 sword, 1 cavalry and one elephant (which was defending the new settlement). One legionary was promoted to elite.

one chartaginian galley near corsica was sunk.

Thessilonka has fallen. It went down to my last horseman, but the city is mine (finally got one). Quite a few dead Macedonian units..... 1 Heavy Cav died, several redlined and my army took it pretty hard too. Hoplites behind walls can be very difficult.

Landed another massive force next to Athens (after clearing the way with some Heavy Cavalry attacks). Athens will fall or burn next turn.

Roman units in (now) Persian territory are ordered to retreat to your own borders or you will be attacked on my turn. I have moved two Heavy Cavalry next to one of your new Roman (formerly Macedonian) cities. They will retreat when your garrison units do.

Lost a galley attacking a fleet of 5 Roman galleys off shore from Olbia.
Attacked the Roman city on the border of Spain and Gaul ( my troops were blocking me from seeing the name).
Lost 4 Heavy Cavalry in the attack and defeated 2 Roman Garrison units. The city is still in Roman hands.
Carthaginian forces continue to attempt to advance up the Italian peninsula.

The citizens in croton cheer the legionaries that entered the city to defend it against the carthiginian horde.

In spain, 2 Legionares arrived at the city and atacked the sieging enemy. One mercenary was defeated and a cavalry unit retreated. Both legionares were severelly wonded in the battle (1hp and 2 hp remaing)

Athens burned, losing from the world one of the great wonders. A Persian invasion force has laid seige to the new Macedonian capitol.

Only 1 Macedonian heavy cavalry destroyed. No losses.

Roman units retreated to their side of the border, so did my heavy cavalry.

Bombarded Croton with catapult. Four Roman Legions slightly injured. Pillaged some of the improvements around the city.

Croton:
3 pillaging carthaginian cavalry were executed by our cavalry.
3 fire catapults fired on the carthaginian horde, injuring two mercenaries.
Ceaser Augustus, leading an army of heavy cavalry atacked an mercenary in the hills. The attack was a disaster with the army retreating with only one hp, after inflicting only one wound to the mercenary...
4 Legions exited the city to atack the huge chartaginian stack, defeating 1 mercenary, 2 elephants and another elephant retreated.

Hispalis:
One Legion persued the fleeing carthaginian army, defeating one mercenary.

Bombarded Croton with catapult then attacked. Defeated 4 garrison units and 1 legion. Lost 2 heavy cav. and 1 war elephant. The city is still in Roman hands for now.
