*** GAME FINISHED ***

Hi, this is the thread for the new PBEM game I plan on starting.

The first one is running quite fast with 5 players (cf http://forums.civfanatics.com/showt...&threadid=85551). This one should be a fast game as well, faster with only 4 human players so known fast/reliable players will be preferred. = if you cannot commit to one turn per day, please don't join !

It is for Conquests, using the MP version of the Rise of Rome scenario and the patch 1.22.
So you need to have both Conquests and the patch 1.22 installed on your computer.

Civs will be attributed randomly.

Carthage - Dogboy
Celts - AI
Egypt - AI
Goths - AI
Macedonia - Loulong
Persia - Rubberjello
Rome - Pirke
Scythes - AI

Players : 8 (Celts, Goths, Scythes and Egypt will be played by AI)

1. Loulong - Macedonia
2. Rubberjello - Persia
3. Pirke - Rome
4. Dogboy - Carthage
5. AI
6. AI
7. AI
8. AI

You want to be in ? You have further questions ? Post in this thread or send me a PM. If ready to join, send me a PM with your e-mail.

Organization : the game will be called Carthaginem esse Delendam (CeD) (Carthage must be destroyed) to be recognizable and when you get the game, send a mail to inform the sender you got it.

I would want to play (again), but if more than 3 people sign up, then please feel free to bump me in favor of them since I'm involved in the other one.

So am I so it is not a big pb (but you would not have Carthage).
Question now is whether you are reliable ! It is not like I have played with you before ;-)

Because there are only 4 real powers (Rome, Carthage, Macedonia and Persia). The 4 others are quite weak (I know I play Egypt in the other one, it is only a trouble-maker)) and limited (techs...) therefore they are supposed to be played by the AI normally. Besides it makes the game run a lot faster.

Sign me up for this one. You have my e-mail, but in case you forgot, it's:

Game started.

First turn sent to Pirke.

We are usually fast and reliable so I will post new turns as a refrence but you guys don't "need" to post here normally.

I don't know if anybody else asked for a change to the AI level, but I did. I think all of us here are pretty experienced players and I felt that regent was too easy. Monarch might be too easy if this was single player, but I think it will work out just fine because of all the humans that we are going to have to contend with. If I made you mad, sorry.

Crimony! It should be at LEAST Emporer level. The Celts, Goths, and Scythians are just so much fodder otherwise.

Human-played civs have been put to Emperor.
Now there are 4 AI, what to do with them ? I am not sure I understand what level for AI civs means in MP. Is warlord easier or harder for them than Demi-god ? I mean is warlord for them like for humans (easy happiness,...) or difficult because they don't have the bonus. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the delay (happens often with me at the beginning !) but I rarely play with AIs...

The harder the leve then the easier it is for the AI. They get discounts on units and techs and buildings. The only thing making the level harder does for the human is more people will be unhappy.

Uhmmm....OK, there is a certain "self-interest" behind this request. But can we make a rule that we can't sign in an AI in a MA against another human (at least Egypt) player for "X" amount of turns? I am primarily concerned about Persia here, as Greece signing in them against Persia on turn 1 will really screw Persia over. There is also the turn 1 "bug" (that affects the Napoleonic scenario also) that lets Humans take a huge advantage of the AI in negotiating M.A.s

Then we must restart again because Persia is at war with Egypt and Scythes at the moment !!!

Personally I think that fits with the game in the case of Persia/Macedonia. Persia has a large base while Macedonia starts first and can negociate easier. But if you all agree to no Alliance against for 5 turns I will redo my turn albeit waiting for 5 turns might make things more difficult but it won't change the order of play.
Pirke, any opinion on that ?

And anything else to discuss before starting the game ? I bet Pirke is tired of getting my "first turn" again and again lol

I can't think of anything at the moment. The problem with these first turns in the conquests is you can take advantage of the AI so much. You can buy all their workers which is so unrealistic, sign MPPs and/or alliances against other people. Kinda unfair.

I was very busy today so I didn't have the time to look at your turns :)

Ehm, no mpp for 5 turns, ok with me.

The peaceful and sleeping kingdom of the Persians were quite rudely awakened when their cretan neighbors to the West garbed their soldiers in hideous, sickly green uniforms and crossed into our borders!
Such bad taste in clothes cannot be borne! This "Alexander" person must be deposed, for the good of the fashion sense of the entire world!
Turn 1 sent onto the prison-garbed Carthaginians (dogboy).

Guys, I don't know if we discussed this but I would like to add something. I would like whoever does any damage to me to send me a battle report. Please don't post it here because not everybody needs to know how you beat me up and now I'm weak for them to dogpile on me. But if you kill someone's units I think you should send them an e-mail or something to let them know.
