Augustus lives!
Emperor Augustus has landed on the Roman mainland and has vowed to avenge the gallant defence of his legions. They died so he could redeem himself by expelling the Carthaginian invaders. However news of his return recieved a mixed response in Rome where Tiberius has assumed control. Whoever is most sucessful against the invaders is likely to prevail. Meanwhile another possible successor, Germanicus, is on campaign far from Rome.

while the BigMac has indeed hurt our already frail health, we have seen a NEW dietitian, received a new diet to follow, and we are certain that within a few turns we shall be lean, mean hungry killing machines!

cleo continues to regret her ill advised advance, as pelopolis (or whatever its called) is taken and she is now officially OFF asia and back to cuddling apes at the cradle of humanity.

it is rumoured that a great leader has shown vast promise in the taking of Egypt.
it is said that he shall become governor of asia soon.

in the north, we have, after an extensive round of negotiations, signed a peace treaty with the scythian dogs.
we do not like it, but we have bigger burgers to fry.

A Carthage-Celt Alliance Wars With Rome!!!

Carthage
The Oracle whispered these words "The forests have arms that can make eagles scream....."
Seeing this as a good sign Carthage agreed with the Celts to destory Rome.

West of Tarentum
Hannibal's War Oliphants destoryed the Roman Iron production outside of Canusium. After a Fire Cats volley Hannibal destoryed a legion, guarding silver mines, that was better equiped then the ones he saw at Neapolis.
This was followed by a unnamed swordman attack on a Roman garrison destorying the garrison & taking the silver mine.
Hanno Of Carthage has returned to Neapolis. There he was given the III War Horse.

PS I was covering my bet with the oracle saying.
Eagles = Rome
Scream = Fear or Triumph?
I thought it was pretty good. :D

Rome notes with displeasure the depravations of the Carthaginian forces outside Canusium so much so that draconian measures have been enforced within the city wall leading to much disorder there. However they have been shown how to treat with such behaviour by the citzens of Tarentum who unleashed a firey fury upon the pillaging swordsmen (1 point of damage).

Rome has reacted equally swiftly against the treacherous Celts, not only will they forfit the gpt they had recieved for the RoP but have witnessed the beginings of Roman justice as they had an archer destroyed by the II Legion. Emissaries were despatched to the Goths and the result was not a pretty picture;

Tiberius has finally marched forth ahead of a mighty host which even now lookdown upon the once Roman city Neapolis.

Rome-Goth Aliance vs Celts
Carthage-Celt vs Rome
Whats the Goth color?
So greygamer does that mean Rome can still have a alliance with someone against Carthage? I see how this works. I can't wait to get my turn.
Blaze Injun
Well in truth I couldn't get an alliance against Carthage with either the Celts (earlier) or with the Goths (they obviously don't fancy my chances :( ) so it wasn't a cunning plan on my part. to be honest I am already quite well garrisoned against the Celts and you may actually have done me a favour in forcing things with them. I did check our 'house rules' first and didn't see any prohibition against it. I suppose the question about alliances is does the restriction apply to total alliances or alliances against any civ (player or AI)? You do raise a good point though, it can get very messy with all the combinations of alliance and I have been at war with a civ I also had an alliance with in a previous game. You could try to get the Scythians to go to war with the Goths though you would have to declare on the Goths for that or Macedon could ally with the Celts against the Goths...see what I mean about confusing :crazyeye:
As regards colours I sometimes have trouble reading the different colored text depending on what forum skin is used. What set up is best one?
For example in the Crusade PBEM 'white is very difficult to read, I am currently using Dark Blue as the skin.
