C3C PBEM : "Junot" - Napoleonic scenario-based PBEM

Hi, this is the thread for the new Napoleonic PBEM !

It is reserved for experienced players only.


"Junot" was the French general who conquered Portugal in 1807 (before fleeing in front of the English landing).

It is for Conquests, using the MP version of the Napoleonic scenario and the patch 1.22.
So you need to have both Conquests and the patch 1.22 installed on your computer.

Civs will be attributed randomly along playing order (but you can state your preferences).

Sweden AI


Players : 5 (Sweden, Prussia and Spain are played by AI).

Organization : the game will be called "Junot" to be recognizable and when you get the game, send a mail to inform the sender you got it.

SPECIAL RULES AND OPTIONS

Razing is not allowed since there are no settlers.

Treachery and change of alliances were common during that period (think of Saxony that turned from ally to opponent to Napoleon within the very battle of Leipzig) so an active diplo and alliance breaking should not be considered evil in this PBEM (as a victim you can still be unhappy and complain though) !

@ BkGreatWarnut : I thought you had decided to take over Random Fan in "Arcole", also a Napoleonic PBEM. I don't mind you joining at all but this is the same PBEM.

Let me know. And have you contacted Random Fan for the games you want to take over ?

This one sounds interesting. I would like to join, as long as the events in the Katana thread are not held against me.

Just remember that I had computer problems setting up a game, so I can't go first.

I've wanted to try a Napoleanic game with something other than comic relief. I'd likt to try this one..

I would sertainly like to get experience on a game that actually gets played on this forum - I have started 2 that have not gone past a few turns. I am experienced although I have not played this particular scenario yet. I usually play turns at 2300 and 0300 gmt.

First qummik and semmental : have you played 1 PBEM to completion or at least in one that is quite advanced (as you might be perfectly reliable but this is usually the surest way of checking it) ?

I have played around 4 to completion. I currently have 2 going and play one turn for each a day on average. Although, given my experience here, are you sure this will stay on track? Having them die for inexplicable causes without any communication has been frustrating.

I will play if needed. If you have others (I think Gnarfflinger got into line before me) please give them the opportunity. No hard feelings. I will be happy to play this or another scenario.

And I am really sorry for the other.
First Provolution dropped without warning. We did not know whether he would come back after a while and waited. When it was clear he had disappeared it was Xmas holidays, people started losing interest, etc...
so it was probably better to restart anyway. I hate it when it happens but better to have clean game with motivated players. The only other time I had to cancel so many games was games started before summer holidays. Though but...

And don't worry about Gnarfflinger. He has taken over Random Fan's games which are plenty so he is probably quite busy !

OK, then it is probably better you play in the next newbee scenario (Rise of Rome) if you don't mind.

They have not died, no. We will eventually finish Grognards, I hope. And Arcole as well. There are just some players in both game who like to "sit" on their turns either due to RL issues or because they don't care. But we'll get those games moving and at least one must be finished though I hope both can be completed eventually.

@ Akots : he was not speaking about those 2 but about Pitt, Cabral and Noreia that were supposed to start before Xmas and that all failed miserably.

@lietkynes : you are in.

I just want to make sure "Tanaka" starts ok and in-between I will do the set up. We should be able to start tomorrow.
