C3C PBEM - WW2 Global

One way or another, we will start tonight.

Usual time to play a turn varies bearing in mind timezones etc. If you check your email at least once a day and aim to play your turns as soon as possible you should be ok.

Sorry Dazz, but I must bail out.

I have just started to play v 1.2.
It is much too slow on my computer (forze actually). Which means no pleasure and (very likely) issues. Sorry for that.

So that means Germany is still available??? I suppose I will give them another shot...hopefully I fair better than the losing effort I am fighting in Market Garden...

I have to download the scenario quick, but please count me in...

I'll download and make sure everything works later today and will post when I do so so we can get started somewhere around 5 or 6 tonight...

BK

Sorry BK ... bigbill had already asked to switch to Germany.

The two positions still available are Japan and China.

Gnarfflinger is testing his download with a view to taking China and once Lou dropped I messaged Augurey who had asked to fill any position that came up.

I have yet to hear back from either of them so far but I feel I really should wait and give them first refusal.

EDIT : Having said that, I'm far from certain bigbill is still taking part ... I have asked him to confirm the scenario works for him and he didn't reply. I also asked for his email address and he still didn't reply ... Lou had to send me the address - not a man of many words it seems. If he doesn't confirm he is still taking part then Germany will still be up for grabs.

Preferred nations if I can play then: Japan, Germany and then China...of course it all depends on who is/isn't playing, but those are my preferences...

Thanks,
BK

Responded. :) I'm in as Japan. I sent a second PM with my email

Bigbill still hasn't confirmed so I have dropped him from the game.

bkgreatwarnut will now play Germany ... assuming you are still happy with that BK ?

You will all shortly receive the startup email.

The only position still unresolved is China as I am still waiting for Gnarf to come online.

What we will do is this ... if BK can start the game when he gets a chance we will play as per the normal player order but if Gnarf still hasn't confirmed by the time it is China's go, then I will play the position myself until I do get someone to take it over ... at least this way we can get this thing off the ground.

I'll cover China in addition to Japan :mischief:

Since Japan's main fight at first is against China...yeah I didn't see the eyes at first...

Give Bigbill dibs yet, but HE SHOULD HAVE LIKE A 24 HOUR WINDOW TO RESPOND... Plus, if he isn't responding during set-up, that is typically not a good sign as most times a person is very eager to just get it rolling during set-up.

BK

I appreciate what you are saying BK but ... it is nearly 48 hours since I asked him to confirm he has the scenario up and running, I have asked him for his email address and earlier today I asked him to comfirm he is definately in. He was logged in about half an hour ago and still didn't bother to reply - that is why I have dropped him.

I say we go as we are ...

I once made a scenario about the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviets, so, I'm going to be nitpicky about this. The naval mines that are south of Helsinki need to be moved to the north east one spot. Historically, the Soviets were unable to leave Leningrad because of the Finnish presence. Right now, the fleet can sail through Tallinn. Letting 70 some soviet ships into the Baltic really hurts Germany's chances. There's a lot stacked the Axis as is.

You would be best posting that on Rocoteh's WW2 Global Thread ...

EDIT ... having playtested Germany it didn't hurt my chances at all - it will be interesting to see what happens on M/P.

So...Augurey is Japan, and bkgreatnut is Germany? Is this for sure? The Soviet Union needs to send out some diplomatic dispatches, but they want to be sure they don't fall into the wrong hands (sic- hands that switch sides at the last minute!)

I got screwed in one PBEM setup (Middle Ages), where one of my "allies" switched about at the last minute before game startup and as a result, knew all my plans. :(

Edit...
Don't worry about the Soviet ships. I will let them rot in the harbor of Leningrad to stay as historically accurate as possible. In addition, (if we are playing with 1.2 version's hysterically overpowered version of Russia Mech. Infantry), I will not try and build many (or any?) of them.

I'm going to, but, it's rather unlikely that he'll get some minor detail like that *tonight* I wanted to change it for *this* game. If you play tested though, then, I say go with it as it. Rocoteh's put much more thought into this than I have :)

Also bear in mind that this too is a playtest ... if the mine makes a difference then changes can be made for future versions.
