C3C PBEM - WW2 Global

One observation for Rocotech to consider in any updates... The maginot line is largely ineffective. I know it was in real life, but it seems even less effective in this scenario. I do not no exactly how far it actually extends, but it is short enough that I can go around it without the need to go through Dutch and Belgium territory (once again, I do not know if this is or isn't historically accurate). Anyways, it does narrow the front I can use, but that is it. Right now I don't ask for the scenario to be tougher on Germany, but forcing Germany to go through the Netherlands and Belgium would definitely be both more challenging and interesting...

Ok Gnarf ... you're in. Welcome aboard.

I have resent the play order to everyone.

All I know perkins is that the Neutrals have declared war ... the Neutrals move after Russia so I doubt they have attacked you yet.

Meditteranean:
-1 Light Cruiser, 3 Destroyers & 1 Submarine (Ger) def. 4 Subs & 1 Dest (Br).

In Eithiopia:
-5 Cav Div & 1 Inf Div are killed in an unsuccessful attempt to take Berbera.

And there I was selling off Berbera improvements thinking the Italian troops were up to the job ... silly me

The Med result is interesting ... I find it virtually impossible to attack Subs with Destroyers without loosing at least 1 Destroyer.

sorry for not responding guys. there was no internet access in my hotel in New York City on my school's senior trip. i will be interestd in seeing how this game progresses, though.

Sorry Bill ... when you didn't respond it looked as if you had lost interest so we had to move on without you.

BK,

That was an surprise.
Notes have been taken.

All is quiet in Russia. The first set of many, many collective worker gangs set to work improving the Motherland. (Yeah...only a couple of thousand ought to do the job in 3 years time!)
A rejection of a trade treaty by Japan and the presence of Italian? troops fortified on Russian soil near Finland has hightened tensions dramatically. Since they have already been warned once about this, it can only be assumed that they are:
A.) Deliberately provoking war.
B.) Are hopelessly stupid and are lost. :D

Game sent to Comrade Gnarfflinger of the Chinese.

More of B...where abouts on the border? By Helisinki or further north? It appeared to there also incompetent leader that they were occupying the fortifications west of the Finnish/Russian border.

And yes, welcome aboard Gnarfflinger! Although you are in fact an enemy...

I just wanted the world (and any lurkers) to know that indeed ALL IS QUIET IN RUSSIA (Soviet Union). So, I took a snap shot of the last save Eric A sent to prove that there should have been a third possible answer of:
C.) The Soviet Union does not know where the Finnish-Soviet border is.
Clearly, from the screenie it is evident that Finnish forces our on the northwest side of the border. I am sorry that they are so close to Leningrad, but they are clearly in my territory...so until I see the border has changed they stay put. If you have a conflicting view please post it...

If anyone else can see that I have violated the border with the Soviet Union with the positioning of forces (4 or 5 Infantry in all) where they are (other than their proximity to Leningrad), please let me know as I do not see whatever Rubberjello has insisted upon in both of his last two posts...

This must be a pbem bug where the cultural border is in flux. In my last two turns, both fortress squares to the NW of Leningrad and NNW of Leningrad are in my zone of control. Based upon the posts by others in the WW2 Global thread, Helsinki's zone soon succombs to the overpowering cultural dominance of Leningrad. Maybe it will sort itself out in a few more turns?

Who cares just attack them before i get raped!

I prefer the "raped" option myself.

Well, I didn't take time to paint up that picture...as long as the border appears as it shown above I will leave my troops there. If I see a border flux I will gladly move them...

And as for the French...come out and fight while you have a chance...once I send in my Panzers its all over... Or at least I hope...

Have the file, will take my turn tomorrow. Will at least try to contribute to the Allied war effort...

Gnarff --- with all due respect, you're dragging this pbem down. I'm sending China's save on to Dazz just to keep this thing going. PBEMs have a nasty habit of dying out very quickly if someone sits 2-3 days on a save.

All,

We all lead busy lives, but when a PBEM comes you play it as soon as you have time to sit down at your computer... Besides, except for my first turn of the Scenario, turns only take between 5 and 30 minutes max. It isn't like you are playing real time or anything...

Gnarf emailed me asking for China's password ... I could have sworn i'd already sent it to him but I must have forgot  Therefore its probably my fault he has been holding things up ... sorry guys.
