Just checking in to see where the game is .... I haven't received it and its been nearly a week since I played this game. I hope we aren't losing momentum. :(

I recieved the 225BC turn yesterday, and sent it on to Macedon before my previous post. I know Romeothemonk sometimes has to travel on weekends, but usually plays when he gets back, so we will hopefully get back on track soon. :)

Since you folks seem to get great pleasure out of these screen shots and reports, however badly I am doing ... here you go. Macedonians please do me a favor and don't gloat

It was with much sadness that the once great city of Zela falls to the Macedonian dogs. According to reports Macedonians suffered minimal losses. Many brave immortals sacrified their lives.

A recon party killed one Hoplite south west of the city near a river.

After consultation with the King's military advisors, it was determined that with the loss of Zela our country boundaries are too overextended to effectively defeat the enemy. Thus with much regret the cities of Trapezus and Sinope on the Black Sea are ceded to the Scythians.

The city of Iconium is razed and refuges are flooding the surrounding area. Persian forces across the front are in full retreat. Wailing begins throughout the Empire for Allah's help.

In 220 BC, as the Roman Legions continue to pursue the stubborn Carthaginian defenders across Africa, a little-known general has emerged to lead our forces to greater glory: Trajan! :)

Hmm, the Zorastian pigs are in full retreat. I killed the Horseman north of Zela, and am advancing at full speed to the heart of the Persian Empire. a 1 hp hoplite killed a horse by Iconiums ruins. 2 Numidian Mercs were slaughtered, and the onslaught continues with no Greek losses this turn either.

Thanks WarningU2, we do enjoy the reports and screenies :coffee: :cooool: . Sorry for your plight :( .

A small incursion from Egyptians (slaves of Macedonians) were beaten off my southern borders.

In the northern frontiers the wailing is over and the Persian people are filled with a new resolve. A lone hoppy was killed in a mtn pass to the west.

------------

Aside from taking it from the Macedonians, I had to share this smack talk from the AI ... too funny.

Not scurrying, weeping rabble  , that is kind of harsh!

Yet again, the retreating Carthaginians have burned their homes to slow the Roman advance. And their furious counterattack almost succeeded, reducing Trajan's Cav army to only 4hp. Yet this time the industrious Romans were prepared, and had citizens accompanying the march, to quickly establish a new base near the ruins of Icosium. This enabled enough catapults to advance to redline the War Elephant guarding the ruins, so that when my Elite legion attacked, I was greeted by Hadrian! He has fallen back to an undisclosed location... Meanwhile, reinforcements continue to press the slow advance. A heavy cav further back was able to pass through the town to kill the Elephant guarding the western road.

This turn the greeks were slightly treacherous. They bribed the Scythians to do some fighting for them, and killed an immortal that foolishly pillaged a road. No greeks were lost, and an impressive SoD is forming.

If the sycths attacked you yippee ! It was not me that bribed them. It was the stench of your cooking pots and the vile conoction you make

btw I havent' received the game yet

In the Year 205 B.C. the mighty Greek war machine killed 2 spears, a horse, a numidian merc and an archer. While laughing at the obsolete archer, we didn't lose a single unit. We continue to push onto the Persian core.

Melitene.jpg

News Report - Macedonian Forces In Sight of The City Inhabitants
A large combined force of hoplights, heavy cavalry, and catapults approach the city of Melitene. The clouds of dust for the immense size of the force can be seen from far away. An equally large force are defending it's riches. All hands, including women and children are strengthening the battlements for the epic battle which will soon occur. A courageous horseman killed a hoplight on the hill over looking the city. Brave numidians and spearman occupy the hills outside the city walls to slow the advance, and give time for the reinforcement of the city.

It's 200BC, and all is quiet on the Western Front. Although we eagerly await reports on the epic battle taking shape to the east at Melitene... :)

In 200 BC, the Greeks lost a beloved heavy cavalry, but cleared out the numidian merc, and the spear shown above, and forced the little pony rider guy to retreat. He is the equivalent of a Vespa at Sturgis, and really only chased off as an after thought.
The Oracle was also completed, and the people rejoiced at such a great wonder being built. When the ToA comes in in 2 turns, there will be even more rejoicing.
The Persians will have their hands full for a long time to come.
Moral support is offered to the Carthaginians, but no military support is forthcoming.

The tide has turned.

The Empire rejoices as our forces are victorius on all fronts. Newly trained recruits are forming Heavy Calvalry regiments throughout the Empire. Soon, very soon we will take the battle to Athens itself.

On the home front the Macedonians have been repelled at gates to the city of Melitine with heavy losses to the supposed conquers and no losses to the defenders. Praise be to Allah !

Zama195_4.jpg

On the shores of the Black Sea dispursed immortals landed and captured the city of Nesebur, killing a hoplite and captured a settler. It was converted into two workers. We hung the workers from the city ramparts and while still living we cooked their heads to watch their eyes pop and run from their sockets like so many slugs on a misty morning. The city was razed from our fires. Cursed be the Macedonians ... let their souls wander purgatory forever more.

On our western borders our units take up defensive positions on the mountain passes.

In the south we take the war to Egypt and will soon move across the Nile to liberate the oppressed !

Victory or DEATH !
