Not talking about the tech, but the way years are counted;
instead of using BC/AD, why not use BCE (before common era) and CE (common era). Those are much more widely accepted by the historical community.

Hmmmm.... Maybe because most people who play the game aren't part of the "historical community", and to them, BC/AD is much more widely accepted.
