Can you bring back dead civ's for scenario creation?

I know this has probably been discussed here before, but I could not find a single thread. What I need to know is:

1) If - in creating the map and dividing up the cities between civs - I destroyed all but three and later decide I should have four in the scenario I'm making, is there any way I can bring one back? Anything, even in the deepest, darkest caverns of the .txt or .dll files?

2) Is there any way to bring back lost Wonders of the World?

These are crucial to my scenario, and I don't want to start over.

Thanks in advance

You can add civs using Carl Fritz's excellent Civtweak program, here:
http://users.stargate.net/~harden/utils.html I don't think his programs allow the resoration of destroyed wonders, though you may be able to do it by hex editing, something which is entirely beyond me.

Thanks man, worked like a charm ;)

If anyone's got any ideas about the wonders, let me know. I don't even mind hexing as long as there's a list of instructions in hand.

 Hmmm, I was sure I posted a reply already... even more strangely, I "remember" using almost the exact same words techumseh used.

Well, anyway, Carl's site also offers Allard's Hex Editing document, here (since you say you on't mind hex-editing):
http://users.stargate.net/~harden/downloads/hex-edit.zip

Find the section about wonders, and you should have no problem locating and adjusting the problem.

whoa, whoa, hold on a minute. The file didn't say which file to even edit. If it's a .sav file, then it's only lines of code on the notepad. What's missin?

 @ techumseh & MB

It's the savegame you have to edit, and with a hex-editor...

I can do it for you if you want. Just send the savegame over to jorrit_v@hotmail.com And please also tell me which wonder (the standard Civ2 name for it) it is you want restored.

Well you don't have to waste any of your time, I just need to know how to look at the .sav file in text. It obviously doesn't work in the notebook.

So is there some sort of "editor" program I have to download?

Well it really isn't much trouble. I could have it fixed in a minute.

If you don't have any programming experience or no real grasp of hexadecimals, binaries and other PC stuff it'll probably look rather intimidating (in a hexeditor a file is just a lot of numbers), otherwise you'll probably have no problems.
And this is a rather simple job anyway, so it might be a good way to get acquainted with hexediting.

I'm not very familiar with many hex editors, so here are some links that may help you in finding one you like. All of them will be able to do what you need to do now, so it mainly depends on what you may need it for in the future and the application's user-friendliness...

I personally prefer Hex Workshop for my hex editing fun. It's shareware, but it's easy to find serials for it at Kazaa or astalavista.box.sk

Boy, was that easy, it did take a minute. Thanks a lot, guys, over and out.:)
