There are some maps covering the nothern East Coast and Eastern Canada. One is to be found in the Independence War scenario (in the Civ2 FW "package").

I wish I was at my mom's; she has the Canadian History atlas in all its glory. Let me see what I can hunt down; it will take a day or two.

Louisburg and Quebec itself are the more interesting of the outposts; Louisburg is a bloody great fortress dominating the approaches to the St. Lawrence. Port Royal was more colonial, and hence more vulnerable.

I must admit some amusement, too: I've never seen Rupert's Land described as "Co. Della Biaia Di Hudson" before. The Hudson's Bay Company grant - which covered any lands that drained into the bay - is commonly known as "Rupert's Land" after Prince Rupert, who was a founding director of the company if memory serves me correctly.

Port Royal became Anapolis Royal when the British took over Acadia. It's west of Halifax on the opposite side of the Nova Scotia peninsula.

Gracias, Oryx!!!

Richard III, Louisbourg is out for my scen timeline... it ends in 1713... but if you can sign on the map Lorette... :)
PS Co. is short for "territori della Compagnia", as these were mentioned in Utrecht theatry. ;)

I noticed that map, Insurgent... i copied great lakes region from it. Thanks. :)

Actually Port Royal was a habitation complex and Annapolis Royal was/is the town across the river.

Annapolis Royal also had a fort called Fort Anne, which was actually a fort meant for fighting.

Here are the official sites for:
Port Royal
Fort Anne

I can get more info if you need it because my mom works at Fort Anne.

Gracias for these webpages, elibb!!! Finally got the infos i was looking for, and some answers, too - why i got no response for my "micmac" search, f.e. ... ;)

PS two more questions, just to focuse french - and their indian allies -army's composition. Were Compagnies franches de la Marine estabilished in Canada before 1713 or no?

Wyandot and Huron are the same tribe or not? and Lorette Huron?

Map of Canada in 1700:
1700.gif

Huron and Wyandot are the same tribe.
Also called: Aragaritka (Iroquois), Hatindia Sointen (Lorette Huron), Marian (Christian Huron), Oenronroron (Iroquois), Telamatenon (Delaware "coming out of a mountain or cave"), and Thastchetci' (Onondaga).

Site explaining Huron names here .

Information about The Compagnie franche de la Marine is can be found here .

Hope this helps.:)
