Cannot launch FfH - help please!

I can't launch FfH on my new comp and I'm getting frustrated...

Until now I've been playing civ4+FfH on my old and slow computer.
Now I got a new notebook with strong graphics (RadeonX1600 with 256MB) so I hoped to see my fauvorite mod in full graphic details for the first time.
The problem is, while vanilla and some other modes are running properly, FfH causes Windows error just after launching the game. I tried launching via Mod Chooser and by going to Load Mod in the Civ main menu and the result is the same. I tried with versions 2021 +patch f, 2020 + h and 1016j.
The only software installed so far is: Win XP, Office 2000 (macro security set to medium) and Civ4.

Can anyone tell me what may cause the problem?
I don't want to go back to vanilla

You need civ4 patch 2.08.

Oops, Thomas is right. I was thinking the Warlords version needed for Speed Mod.

This seems to be the placee to talk about my problem. I don't know what I did wrong, but the 2.021 FfH doesn't display the FfH models like it did with 2.020...

Maybe it was answered welsewhere but I did not find it so...

Usually if you don't see the right graphics (probably pink blobs?) you downloaded the patch without the main file. Try downloading the entire 2.21 and then the patch.
