Cannot use Mask

I have two Slave Hunters (Mekara Ranger UU).
Council of Esus is my state religion.
I have Deception technology.
They are recon units.
They both have Council of Esus as their religion.

I even have Nox Noctis. They can use Expose Self/Rescind Heresy with no issues. But they can't use Mask (to receive Hidden Nationality). The Mask button is right there, but it's blackened and can't be pressed.

No matter if they are in or out of their army (They're lead by a Great Commander) doesn't matter. Tried it inside and outside of borders, aswell as inside and outside of a city. Nothing works.

I need more slaves, dammit! It's not like Thessalonica (my Vassal) needs all her workers, anyway.

It all seems to be rather buggy. If I move the units into a square of their own, it's usable. If they are in a square where they have ever been selected alongside other units, it won't work.

Also, I don't think Hidden Nationality units can capture slaves... or anything.
 
They cannot. If an HN unit captured a unit for your civ, well... Then it's not HN anymore, now is it?

Yeah, in a way, I could see all slaves being Hidden Nationality.

But it'd lead to stupid situations where they'd be attacked by your allies in your nation.

Sounds like perfectly normal opportunism to me.
 
It makes sense for slaves to be hidden nationality, at least if captured by a hidden nationality unit. If hidden nationality gave a -10-15% penalty to capturing slaves, could this be worked in? Slaves would of course need some way to give up the hidden nationality, only accessible when in your territory. Maybe there could be a chance for the attacking unit to lose hidden nationality when they capture a slave.

If someone make this to work, better could be to have a % chance of the captured worker-slave to die. Sometimes workers could not survive the capture...

Speaking about HN units: Is Empy reveal going to be fixed? I don't really think that spell should be able to completely remove HN to units. Specially if such unit start with HN and cannot get it back. Better could be, perhaps, such unit to gain a promo that reveals the nationality to everybody, with a timer, when Revelation is used. That way... everybody happy.
 
HN units capturing slaves would be incredibly OP.
