Can't apply patch 1.1 or TOTPP

I have a physical copy of TOT I bought years ago but unfortunately my new computer doesn't have a disk drive. So I had to download TOT from another website. I tried to apply patch 1.1 to it but it says I don't have civ 2 on my PC. Idk how to fix this to get to the next step of TOTPP.
Is it only possible with the disk? Do I have to figure out how to modify my computer and add a disk drive or is it possible to get the downloaded version to be recognized?
I am on Windows 11.
I found TOT works if I download the 64 bit patcher, but I still can't get patch 1.1 to apply or TOTPP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try using the patch for civ chronicles, you can get it from here. It lets you choose install directory manually so can work around this issue.

So it said it instaleld the civ chronicles patch but when I went to run it it crashed as you are about to start the game... does the civ chronicles patch not fix the 64 bit problem?

No, TOTPP fixes 64 bit issues, but TOTPP requires a clean 1.1 patch install.

Hmmm I tried to install TOTPP and the first time it said that I didn't have test of time installed. Second time it just didn't even run
