Can't Build Internet

I'm playing a game with the HOF mod (and not doing well) and beelined to Computers in order to build The Internet in an attempt to catch up to the AIs.

When I got there I was unable to build it, yet there is nothing in the event log saying that another civ built it and there is nothing on the Wonders page either.

Any ideas?

Are there more prerequisites than just Computers? Or has someone else stealth-built it?

AFAIK Computers is the only requisite but if some other AI has it then maybe they would have built it or its being built in one of your other cities and thats why its not showing up

Or are you playing as a team or have a permanent alliance with an AI who is building the Internet?

None of my cities are already building it. And there are no teams. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I see now that it shows as a "World Project" and not a "Great Wonder", so maybe it isn't put on the wonders page nor advertised in the event log...

Does it show up in the city as an option to build?
If it's there (even greyed-out) hover your move over it, and see what it says.

No, doesn't appear as an option to build in any of my cities.

All signs point to it being done somewhere else.

I think that Projects don't show up in a specific city after they are built. There should be an entry for when World Projects are completed in the event log though.

But if you don't have the option to build it after you got Computers, someone else must have built it.

But if I recall, just as with the Manhattan Project, it doesn't matter who builds the Internet; everyone gets the benefit of automatically learning techs which have been researched by anybody. So don't stress about building The Internet yourself, especially if an AI is willing to sacrifice some of their hammers to do it for you.

Is the Internet set in the build queue in any of your cities? IIRC, for wonders and projects, just being a cities queue will not allow it to be built in any other city.

It would be greyed out. He's saying it's not there at all, which suggests to me it's built.
