Can't build temples

I have a city which currently has the Islamic and Confucian religions. In fact, its the holy city for Confucianism. In the building panel for the city I see an icon to build a Confucian Academy. But its grayed out with a red flag that it Requires Confucian Temple (2/3 total). But I'm not given the option of building a temple. It's not there, at all. I have other cities in this same situation. They provide the option to build an advanced religious structure, but they are grayed out with the red flag that one or more temples are required. But again, there is no option to build a temple. Seems rather odd.

hmmm....sounds like you must have Priesthood since you have some temples built. You sure you don't have temples in the build queue already.

Sounds like you have built a cathedral already, and haven't got enough extra temples to build another one.

You need 3 temples for each cathedral. The cities which can't build one probably have one already.

1. You can look at the left of the screen when you're inside of your city. There is the list of buildings you have completed in that city. Look for the Confucian Temple to appear in that list. If it is not there, you can build one.

2. You can only build one Confucian Temple per city. You need three cities, with one Temple in each city, in order to build one Confucian Academy.

3. Naturally, you can only build a Confucian Temple (or any other religious building) in a city if that city actually has the religion present. Inside the City Screen you can see which religions are in that particular city by letting your eyes go to the top right of the screen and look at the seven religious symbols. Those that are not greyed out are present in the city in question.
