Can't find a unit, way to cycle through them?

Hello all. I am playing Civ 7 and am stumbling my way through learning the mechanics. But I have recently come to an issue that I haven't been able to resolve or find an answer on the internet. I seemed to have lost an Army Commander. The last thing I recall doing with him was putting him inside a city to heal but I haven't seen him since. I am pretty sure I still have him because my ledger says I have two of them in my expenses.

I tried clicking on another unit and doing the teleport add to army commander option but only one green hex showed up (which was for my other commander). Other than that I don't know what I can do. Is there a way to cycle through the units like in past Civ games? Thanks.

Go to settings, then to game, you can check unit cycle remaining movement and auto unit cycle. It's not exactly what we are looking for but it will at least make sure all units get your attention.

Check out Moxl Map Search.

It adds a search box to the Lens Toggles down in the lower left. Type in "Commander" and it will highlight all tiles with a Commander in it.

If there's no commander where you think there should be one, you have a few options:
- give up, accept that Firaxis is your Daddy, and move on
- load some earlier saves and see when and where the commander disappeared
- maybe there was a natural disaster and your commander got killed
- maybe your commander was accidentally railroaded or moved someplace
- maybe your commander dies somehow, and it hasn't come back yet (dead commander are returned to you after some indeterminate number of turns).

He may have gotten demoralized and gone on a drinking binge. If so he'll sleep it off and show up in one of your towns. He may have "died" due to civil unrest or natural disaster. It seems the revolting peasants will kill off units before before burning the city.

I agree. Miss this greatly from Civ VI.

It was bonkers to me that unit cycle remaining was not a default option. Did someone think that moving units was some niche activity only min/maxers do?
