Did a search for "horse" that didn't help.

I'm noob...but this game is great! On to the question.

I'm playing the English, and I've learned Chivalry. I have access to Horses and to Iron, and I have people working both resources in each city. I also have roads going between them. Yet, I can't make horse units!!! I was really looking forward to this. What's wrong? There's a little "no" symbol in the corner of Chivalry on my Science screen (you know, circle with line thru it).

What's wrong?
:)

The "no" symbol just means its an optional tech, not needed to advance to the next age.

Like JoseM said, make sure both tiles with iron and horses on them are connected to the cities you want to produce knights out of via road.

You don't need to have a citizen working the tile the resource is on, as long as the tile is connected to your cities.

Also, if you have only one connected resource you should not trade it away...

as Mr Spice said, check your trades. You can (illegally) end trades by cutting all connections (including harbors) to your tradig partner or declaring war.

Next thing: if you are Indians or some other civ where you have a UU instead fo knights you can`t build them. Can you build horsemen??

the UU is at the end of the unit part of the build list, so maybe you just overlooked it?

did u conected the HORSE STRATEGIC RESOURCES with roads to your capital?

No I hadn't. That was the key, thanks!

Do I need to build roads to the mines I make, too?

Nope, roads are only needed for strategic resources or luxuries. I'd build the roads anyway though, I build roads nearly everwhere for the trade bonus.
