Okay, so part of my game plan was to nuke 6 cities at a certain time. Got the nukes up, blasted 2 of them .. but I can't blast the rest. ???

Is there a distance limit? Am I doing something wrong? I don't get any message, I click the red button, then click the enemy city and nothing happens.

Thanks

There's 2 types of nukes, tactical and ICBMs. ICBMs can hit anywhere on the map. Tacticals have to be loaded up on subs and launched from short range - not sure of the full range.

The range should actually be a 4 squares cross. Also it might not be possible to nuke an area if friendly units are in range (I think it's possible to nuke your own units -for obvious reasons I've never tried- but not allies).

There might be another hidden unit from a civilization your not at war with in one of the cities. Like if you wanted to nuke Greeks but there was a russian spy in their town, it won't let you nuke it. Odd programing quirk.

Agreed, spies shouldn't be taken into account in this case.

rlawrence, eventually check also if allies' land is in the range, as you won't be able to nuke it without declaring war. I presume that you would get a warning anyway...

Thanks guys, it's ICBMs i made, and it's probably friendly units in the city. Didn't think of that.

I always thought you should be able to nuke a city regardless of friendly units with just a warning beforehand, and then either have a severe diplo penalty or perhaps even grounds to declare war (as the AI declares war but you are judged the aggressor in terms of WW) - spies not included in this for obvious reasons.
