Can't play BtS in fullscreen mode

I have a problem where I can't play BtS in fullscreen mode (I have no problems playing Vanilla & Warlords in full screen mode). So, for the last few months I have been playing BtS in windowed mode happily (after I maximise the window). - Until my ini config snapped back into default today and I can't figger out how to navigate by moving the cursor to the side of the screen - I don't know what I changed in the ini file that allowed me to do this.

But, if I could play in the fullscreen mode this would not be a problem!

So, why can't I play in full screen mode with BtS? Put this way: I have a 27cm x 34cm screen. But the graphics comes on as 27cm x 68cm (with the right side of the graphics hidden) - in a manner that is inoperational.

I have compared ini files of both Warlords and BtS and apart from the fullscreen mode they are both consistant. In the graphics setting in the game, both are 1024x768 resolution.

Can anybody help me?

; Specify whether to play in fullscreen mode 0/1/ask
FullScreen = 0

to either 1 or ask

Yes, I know that.

The problem isn't getting into fullscreen mode. The problem is that when I am in fullscreen mode the game is completely inoperable (as per the third paragragh).

So, if there is someone here who might know why my graphics parameters are 27cm x 68cm and how I might change it back to 27cm x 34cm - so that I can operate and navigate in fullscreen mode.

Failing that. Can someone at least tell me how, when I am in windows mode, I can navigate by putting my cursor to the side of the screen as I am now unable to do this.

Sorry - I misunderstood that
you can also force the screen resolution in the .ini.
Just enter the correct width and height in pixels in customheight= and customwidth=

My computer resolution is on 800x600 pixels. So I changed the ini file to:

; Custom Screen Height, minimum: 768 - Normal resolutions can be set in-game and will be used when set to 0
ScreenHeight = 600

; Custom Screen Width, minimum: 1024 - Normal resolutions can be set in-game and will be used when set to 0
ScreenWidth = 800

Then I saved the ini file. Result: no change. I tried changing my computer resolution to 768x1024 Pixels and resetting Screenheight & width back to 0 in the ini file: still no change.

Any more suggestions?

My vanilla and my Warlords work perfect on this computer. Do I have a bug in my BtS or something?

No. Since installation, I have never been able to play in full screen mode.

When I first instilled BtS (over a year ago)I had this problem of not being able to play in full screen mode - consistant to what I have recently described. However, I figgered how to play in windows mode and have been doing that until recently.

It was recently that my .ini. file flipped back to default (meaning that it had gone back to fullscreen mode and playing the intro movie which I had turned off) for whatever reason. So, when I had to change it back to windows mode, this made me address the original problem of not being able to play in fullscreen mode.

However, I am not technically minded enough to understand how to post my dxdiag results to you. So, if this is necessary, then you will have to explain in basic terms how to do this.

But, what happens when I change to fullscreen mode is I get the left side of the menu screen (with a picture of the Italian church) stretched across my computer screen, but am unable to operate anything.

Actually, my problem is exactly the same as jzapatka, re: CivIV Fullscreen mode problems.

I don't think the answer to the problem is anything to do with the moniter, as suggested with jzapatka. The thing about this problem is that I can play vanilla and Warlords perfectly.

I think this problem has remained unresolved. And like jzapatka, at least I can play in windows mode.
