Can't Seem to Play RiFE: Any Help?

I can't seem to play RiFE, which is odd, because I use to play it all the time (on this same computer). After I got plagued by OOS errors I uninstalled RiFE, but I decided to give it another go using the Final Fixes+Final Fixes Reborn patches. Now whenever I try to do a multiplayer game, even if only hotseat, (singleplayer works fine), I get the following error while loading: XML Error.jpg

So I tried removing the Dural module. Then I just get this error in it's place: Promotion Error.jpg

I thought it was because of Final Fixes Reborn, so I tried playing RiFE without it... and I get the same error.

I went into my config file and set XML loading to 1 to see what would happen. When I do that, my game crashes to the desktop once I get in the game (although at least I get through the loading phase). However, the default is 0, so I'm thinking it should be kept that way.

Any ideas what could be going on? I can play normal Fall From Heaven/the More Naval AI mod, but I love everything that RiFE adds and would like to play it again. I ensured that my brother and I have the exact same files (he even gave me his entire Civ4 directory), and his game loads just fine, so it shouldn't be a file error. I also set my Civ4 folder to give security permission to Everyone.

If I got it right:
- Civ4 folder is the same on your computer and on your brother's computer.
- If your brother tries MP, everything is OK.
- If you try MP, you get the error in your first screenshot.

1st idea: something is wrong in your CIV configuration files. (but don't take my opinion for granted: my Civ4 experience is really the sorcerers' apprentice one)

Easy solution: copy-paste the C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword folder from your brother's PC to yours.

Longer solution: (I had to do it a few weeks ago, for another similar problem in RifE)
- save your mods and saves (cut-paste to another folder)
- delete Civ4, and check that configuration files were removed.
- reinstall and patch
- cut-paste the mods and saves into the correct game folders

PS: my Dural_CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml is 780848 bytes.

looking at the dural error i'd conclude that either you have corrupted Dural_civ4diplomacyInfos.xml file or Dural_CIV4CivilizationsSchema.xml or CvGameCoreDLL.dll

and the promotion error - you can see that the promotion is CHAIN_OF_COMMAND, which is another module, that is required in order to start the game ( though i'm not really sure, that module was a bit mistery to me )

but if the very same folder and it's contents are working on your brother PC's, that the problem is either in the "my documents/my games/beyond the sword" or application files, so yeah, what ronkhar said, try to reinstall Civ4 from scratch

I forgot about the folder in My Documents! I will try to copy that over, first. Hopefully I won't need to do a full reinstall but I'll give that a go if replacing My Documents doesn't work. Thanks, guys! I'll provide an update when I've tried these solutions.
