Can't skip turns without giving out orders, unplayable for me

First of all "hello". I was about to register on 2kforums, until I found this MASSIVE community.

I bought Civ5 a few days ago (my first civ game).

I've played a few hours now, and it's almost unplayable. I have so many units it's beyond tedious to press "spacebar" until I can end the turn.

According to hotkeys shift+enter is suppose to end turn WITHOUT giving out orders, doesn't work for me. Tried "simple spacebar mod" doesn't work for me. It seems none of the mods works for me.

As of right now i'm breaking my spacebar just to tell my units to not move, this is boring gameplay. Example, I have 20 armies = 20 spacebar press.

Please tell me there's a way to end a turn without giving out orders?

Try pressing A or F instead of space bar. A makes the unit not require an order until an enemy unit shows up. F makes them wait until you tell them to do something else. Both also gives your unit a small defensive bonus.

But that means I have to press A/F 20 times, you see my problem?

Isn't shift+enter suppose the end the ENTIRE turn WITHOUT giving out orders 20x times?

I have 20 armies = 20 times of pressing a button.

You only need to do it once. They wont need a new order the following turns. They will just stand there and wait.

F will wait until you tell it to do something (or it dies).
A will wait until an enemy comes close.

The last 10 turns of my game where I was building the Utopia Project were so incredibly long because of this problem.
