I'm a liberal, let me start right there. I don't think the government should be in the killing/revenge business.

Tim McVeigh killed all those people in Oklahoma in the name of revenge. We killed him...in the name of revenge.

What cracks me up is all the religious guys that are PRO death penalty. What about 'Thou shalt not kill' don't these people get?

What I would like to ask, though, is what's the deal with only serving 8 yrs on a 12 yr sentence? or only serving 6 yrs of it?

I am against parole, time off for ghood behavior, all of that.

What I like is when some idiot accuses you of being pro-murderer if you're against the death penalty. That's plain genius of you guys to come up with that reply. Same with anybody who has questions about the need for continuous bombing. There's always some dolt that wants to equate this with being pro-terrorist.

It's called a 'grip'. Get one.
 
The idea of parole, in theory, is a good one. I would love to see these offenders some how change and become members in good standing of our society (I mean if someone with a drunk driving record can be president...). Unfortunatly no system has been implemented that can actually tell if someone has changed. Maybe some sort of hypnosis could be used.
 
Speaking of Tim McVeigh, how did he die? Lethal Injection? So we put the gut into a deep slumber and then adminster poison that will kill him? Oh what revenge and punishment... :rolleyes: He asked to die!!! We should have put him in a shack and blown it up.

Now I'm not eye for eye, and I'm not necessarily Pro-Death Penalty, I'm SELECTIVE. The whole process should be up to ME. :D Case by case basis. Okay, maybe not me, but ya know...

Sex offenders? Oftentimes, the "mental problem" is not a problem, it's a defect. It is not fixable by rehab or counseling. It is a part of the person, and they will repeat their crime.

Pro Murderers are Murderers themselves whine sniffle? Hell man. You aren't a jellyfish, act like you have a spine. If someone killed my family members, friends, or whoever I care for, I will probably do my best to beat them to death with my bare hands. Do you think I care about who is or isn't a murderer at that point? Right is right, wrong is wrong. If someone does wrong to me, I try to forget it. If it's serious enough, they gonna get wrong back on them tenfold, to use a BIBLE phrase.

Tell yall one thing right now. I have to agree with KNAS. When I was 14, some guy pulled his dick out and tried to get me to touch it. Talked all kinds of sick ****. I never told no one. A few years later, I had a plan to go back and DO something, whether that was burn his house down, beat him in the street and set him on fire, whatever. Fortunately/Unfortunately, see it how you will, he had moved. Some young couple had moved into that house. How many other kids went through that or worse? No way of knowing. Hopefully he ended up in prison wherre he got beat each day, and tortured by fellow inmates. And I tell you something else right now. If I saw him today? You BETTER believe I would beat him until I was dragged off. I would enjoy inflicting pain on him like nothing else. Piece of ****s like that make me ****ing sick. They deserve no better than death, and painful at that.

Okay, a little off topic, but thought I'd reply to that little thread within this thread. :) Am I PRO MURDER? HELL YES I AM!!! But in the right places and times. Like I said, a case by case basis. And if I am the judge on the cases, this crap would clean up real quick! Population might drop a chunk... ;)
 
Someone who kills with the intent to kill should be sentenced to death.
Damnit people we have like 10 other threads on capital punishment equally up to like 800 posts.

How many times do we have to have the same discussion?!?!? I've been a member for about seven months now, and this is probably alteast the fifth time that this topic has been brought up in as many different threads...It's getting pretty redundant & boring.*Begin heavy sarcasm* Perhaps TF should consider creating a whole forum just about the death penalty.*End heavy sarcasm*

Murderers are scum...

But then, so is the law system... of ALL coutries... Everyone gets ridiculous terms for crazy crimes...

6 years for a first time armed robbery with no prior history is bull****... so is putting someone in jail for only one year when the murdered and rpaed 3 girls! (And no, this is just stuff i've heard and may be untrue, but just trying to make a point! :) )

Murderers, Rapists (we have to watch out for this one - should be exceptions if been in or are in relationship and not include Statutory rape... people get ****ed up by these!) and especially and paedophile faggz.. I hate that **** and would personally pull the trigger, push the needle, press the button to execute any of these sick bastards...

Mental asylums and institutions do NOTHING... no one gets cured and it is often very much less security than in normal prison...

Hell, I'm pro-death penalty alright... Just has to be the right person... detection methods and ways of determining giult are crap at the moment.. and nope, death penalty will not work with the way the law system is at the moment... It's just a joke...

here's a side note on Capital Punishment Say on live tv we see footage of Mr X shoot and kill Mr Bin laden and kill 2 children near by who were jsut in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

Mr X turns out to be a Spy for the CIA, an American and he come back to the states. Do we:

A. Call him a hero
B. Prosocute him for murdering children
C. Do nothing about because he got rid of one evil despite the cost of two incocent lives?

here's a prime case a sain man takes three lives infront of the world should he be punished with his life?

It's simple if you have killed some one in cold blood you deserve to die!

JUST LINE THEM UP AGAINST A WALL MACHINE-GUN IN FRONT AN BLAST AWAY !!!! Problem solved.

Because now a days the one who have comited the crime has more rights than the one who is realy the victum, namely the victem itself.
 
and another thing about the justice system in sweden, if u commit a crime, and claim that u were insane at the time, but now you are not insane anymore for some reason you can get away without either jail or mental hospital. but i think they just changed this, but i dunno.

another bad thing in sweden(i dunno if this is the same in any other countries) is that rapists and pedofilians or whatever u call them, are being kept in a seperate buildings and are not allowed be near the other criminals. they do that to protect them from the other inmates, but u see, they way i see it, why spend money on those *******s? let them get beat up and stuff like that.

Your right Knast, by guys like that we should call a guy named BUBA and f*ck them up the *ss three times over. Just ass long that they begin to like it and then stop doing it.
No seriously its the same here in The Netherlands, doest rapists are looked up apart from the other inmates. Because otherwise they would kick the rapist ass to a smouldering heap.
Because most inmates have childeren of their own, and also hate rapist just like you and me and the rest of the world.

The goverment should say if theirs prove the done the crime, you have two choices one be corrected/castrated (bye bye penis) or go to prison a very very very long time.
Because scientist have proven that rapist do what they do because of the hormones and its hard (hahaha) evidence when a man get castrated they loose those hormones. So its less likly they will rape again.
 
Alotta good points here. In many ways its difficult to make a moral decision about the death penalty with so many pro's and cons.

But I still feel killing someone to avenge anothers death is wrong, I think a very long prison sentance would be worse. Why you may ask?
Simple. The death sentance I think kinda relies on their being a heaven and hell, when the murderer is dead he'll goto hell and suffer. But what if when the murderer dies he goes to a good place where he can enjoy himself whenever he wants?
I think that by shoving someone in a damp dingy prison for the rest of their life, and I mean the rest of their life is what should happen.
Unfortunately prisons nowadays are made to be reasonable for the prisoners to live in, even better than the houses some have been living in before!!!!
If you take a life you should lose yours, goto prison with no escape and never come out.

Now as for paedophiles, I agree with everyone on them, they are scum, ******-up scum!!!! Throw them in a prison and never let them return!!!

I think that just putting them in a prison is too easy even if it's for life. We shld put them in a prison in some deserted locale and do hard labour. Siberia and the Artic comes to mind. That way even if they escape, they may never make it. And hard labour's good for the soul.

As for seperating prisoners, that is bullcrap!!! Molesters/Rapists get messed with the most in prison, and we protect them so they can get parole and do it again? Sweden and any other country doin that should stop that crap right now. That's terrible. I don't like prison for them either though... I think death by torture would be cool. They can ruin lives and not lose anything but time to ruin more while in prison?

As for Heaven and Hell, scrap that. Some deserve death, some don't. Prison takes space, lockin up people for life is not possible. They offer nothing to society, they are scum who committed crime to be imprisoned in the first place, why waste tax money and food on them? Kill em and they are not a burden any longer. I have a hard stance on crime. If God can forgive them and take them in, let's send them there. And if they gonna burn in Hell? Let's send them there too.

As for the proof issue... yah, we don't need another salem witch hunt thing goin... I dunno, I'm tired of this "rehab" crap. A bad seed is a bad seed. Sure rehab can work, but sometimes I feel like it is wasted time and effort. Taxpayer's money goes to reform these criminals. Why? So they can contribute to society? 1 bullet would be cheaper.

Boy, yall probably think I wanna kill everyone now... ;)
