Cap 2 has (temporarily, I'm sure :) ) been my most played game in the last few weeks. I just wondered if anyone here was a fan of Trevor Chan's masterpiece.

I was dissapointed that there was only one gameset, I was hoping for more like Cap+, but otherwise... :goodjob:

I guess that no one else has purchased it. I was interest in buying it but I haven't had much possitive cash flow until recently. I might look into it though, how does it play?

It plays just the same as the original Capitalism, with added real estate dealing and some changes to stores and business dealings.

You can build buy & sell apartments or commercial buildings, and occasionaly buy & sell radio/tv/newspaper buildings. (in effect free advertising, but these cost a fortune)
Another change is that many of the financial/HR options, - eg hireing managers of setting the dividend - are only available if you have built your "head office" and added the appropriate department.
There are now several types of stores, electrical goods, supermarket etc that can only sell certain items. (You can turn this off, and play with the original store sales rules if you prefer)
Also, the quality of farm crops is now determined by the unit level, instead of the fertility/climate/rainfall ina particular spot.

The game itself is a lot more stable than Capplus for Windows, which seemed to crash every hour or so.
And of course, it's all in glorious isometric 3D now. ;)

argh 3D, the bane for a smooth playing strat game! :) Well, it sounds interesting....but does it have MP?

Ahhhh, I played capitalism 1. And it was really complex. And complete. I admit that they did a great job but it was a game for hardcore gamers because it was too complicated. I've not heard about Capitalism 2, I saw it anywhere but since I didn't like the 1st opus maybe I'll avoid this one. After all, one cd is one cd eh PH? ;)

So, to answer your question, so far, nobody "bought" it but surely several people have it :D Not me though.

Isometric 3D - like SC 3000, so no CPU cycles wasted! :)

Yep, lots of MP - LAN, TCP/IP + nul modem.
