Welcome to CivFanatics, Caesar.
1. Capitalism is never
finished. Switching your city to building that city improvement is meant to change the cities production (shields) in gold. When you switch your city to it you will notice that your shield icons are now gold icons and add to your treasury.
2. To build the spaceship someone has to have built the Apollo Program Wonder. Then you can start building the various elements of the spaceship. Each element has a certain tech that is needed to build it. There are three elements; structural, components, and modules. Structural holds the spaceship together and the more components and modules you add on, the more structural elements you will need. Components are the fuel and engines for the spaceship. Modules are the lifesupport, habitation, and solar panels need to support your people during the trip. Check out the
scrolls of ancient wisdom for a bit more info on different sizes to build your spaceship.
3. To turn your cities population in scientists or taxmen your city first has to be at least size 5. Then you take one of the workers off of production by clicking on a square the city is working on. That will turn them into an entertainer (they add luxuries to the city, which make the people happier). you then click on the entertainer and that turns them into a taxman (which adds more gold to the city). Click on the taxman and you get scientists (which add to the science of the city). You can also look under the civlopedia, game concepts, specialists.
4. The cities production is based on what terrian you have and which terrain is being worked on by your cities population. Check out the civlopedia, terrain types. Also check out the civlopedia, game concepts, both trade and shields. Briefly, the yellow icons are food, they feed the population and extra are built up to add to the population. Blue icons are shields, they allow the city to produce more itmes. The gold icons are trade, they give the city more gold, science and luxuries, depending on the tax rate that is set.
If you have anything more specific, let us know. I think you should really look through the civlopedia and might like to check out our
War Academy .
