I propose we implement captain units (ala lurtz, boromir). these units would be limited to two or three per civilization, and would "raise the morale" of sourrounding troops.

by raise the moral, i mean, an increase in strength, not withdrawing, uped chance to win.

Liking. Maybe they could be more generic, like being called 'captain' s.

Sounds great... Together with the king unit, it could substitute the Great Gennerals, and give about the same bonuses.
Perhaps Captains would be available through some special condition, like a random event or the building of a small wonder.
Does anyone know how to make a unit have many names, like great people?

Would captains be an attachable unit like GGs, or would they be a separate, combat unit?

I'd imagined them as seperate units, which work best with other units around them. with one, a player can easily capture a city, but should he lose it, then all of his troops will suffer.

A list:
Dunland:
Lurtz
Gondor:
Boromir/Faramir
Mordor:
The Mouth of Sauron
Others (please suggest)

Sindar:
Beleg Cúthalion

Edain (whatever they are):
Húrin
Túrin
Húor
Túor

Having them is a bonus, losing them is a minus - how long until the minus vanishes?

Also, it'd be cool if you could keep track of which unit killed your captain so that if one of your units in the same stack as the late captain killed the unit that killed the captain, the detriment of losing him would disperse faster.
(Did ^ make any sense?)

Trying not to repeat:

Hobbit:

Bandobras
Merry
Pippin

Men:

Bard
Prince Imrahil
Hurin
Beren
Helm
Halbarad
Elros

Elves (Not sure which groups, sorry):

Erestor
Cirdan
Glorfindel
Haldir
Legolas
Earendil
Elrond

Mordor/Isengard:

Gothmog
Gorbag
Grishnakh
Shagrat
Ugluk

Dwarves:

Gloin
Gimli
Balin (Could be used for King for Moria too)

Just a few ideas. Hope they help.
