The Year That Made Everybody Cry and Laugh: 2103
December 31, 2102- December 31, 2103
"This Administration is hopelessly corrupt, and the people are suffering for it" -Anonymous Californian Senator
Tragedy occurred in America. On February 8, Brent Thornberry, adviser to US President Tom Struder, shot the president and Kent Swallows, the famed CNN journalist and news anchor, during an interview. Then, Brent faced the camera and shot himself. However, this was not all. On February 12, the Eye of God attacked Cornell's College and University, by setting off nerve gas and bombs at 12:20 PM. 90 students, 3 guards, 2 teachers, and 9 Eye of God members were killed. Another 19 were wounded. Then, on February 20, 12 car bombs went off in Times Square, destroying several shops and killing 34 people and wounding 48. On March 2, 7 car bombs went off near Parliament, destroying the House of Commons while in session, killing 60 people, and wounding 90. New elections have begun, as there was no Vice President and the Speaker of the House was killed, along with the cabinet when a car crashed into their meeting. The driver was identified as a drunken guard. The current favorite is Harold Mendel, a 'Security Party' candidate.
"Let our differences be put aside, and we shall prosper together" -East Canadian Prime Minister Godric Wendslee on unification
Canada has reunited after security concerns and the call of the people. The government has merged together, with two Prime Ministers at the head! Much of the military was laid off, but the remaining have transformed into the 'Canadian Unity' division, whose purpose is to signal the unity of the new Canada. However, not everybody is happy, as the differences of the people have transformed into conflicts, especially with the minority groups which were happy under West Canadian control.

Switzerland unveils New Technology!
Switzerland has unveiled their new gadgets in a technological expo in Geneva. They have successfully created a water-powered car, free high-speed internet connections, state-of-the-art security which makes the Hong Kong bank look like a wooden box with valuables, and an instant teleportation machine, with a range of 100 miles. However, it cannot transfer living things, such as humans or animals, but it can transport plants, safes, money, supplies, etc. This technology has boosted confidence in Switzerland, and has boosted them in to the Early Space Age. The government has decided to keep the teleportation machine secret, and has also pledged not to fund or sponsor any space programs.

Japan unveils New Technology!
As with Switzerland, they have unveiled some shocking new developments in science. They have successfully launched a rocket, capable of reaching Pluto in only 4 years. They have also succeeded in free high-speed internet access, a new flying car (Expensive, over $1,000,000 USD), and phone service reaching to Antarctica. These advancements have ushered in the Early space Age, and an increase in Confidence.

Trade Nexus Complete!
Turkey has completed their Trade Nexus, in Istanbul. (I forgot location

) This great stock exchange has ushered in economic confidence, investments, and an overall increase in trade. This has led to increased confidence in the nation. This was only further increased when the Turkish government announced elections for 2104.

"Hey, where's my gun?" -Chinese Citizen in Shanghai
An amazing phenomenon occurred in China this year. Guns, lasers, grenades, and pretty much any weapon not belonging to the Chinese government has disappeared. Many of hem disappeared in front of peoples' noses. As a result, some people are in revolt, some are happy for they feel safer, and some are fearful, particularly those in the Eye of God. It seems like the Eye of God will need to withdraw from China, with no weapons of any sort besides pitchforks and fists. The Eye of God DID NOT have a base in the UAPF, but the Crimson Patriots did.

UAPF Surrenders!
The UAPF surrendered on May 24, as their military was either defecting or losing. However, there was still lots of fighting, particularly in Niger and Chad, as those nations were the new capitals of the UAPF. Most of the UAPF has either banded with other African Unions, or have created independent nations. Spain will still need to occupy northern Africa, as more and more dissent is raging there. In other news, Sudan had a cease-fire with Egypt, if I didn't mention it already. Estimates of casualties from last year have arrived. Please note these numbers are the total of last year and this year.
(-13,000 Spanish Infantry (Cannonfodder), -53,000 UAPF Infantry (Mostly deserters), -UAPF, +Libya, North African Union, and other independent nations, +UAPF remnants group)
Israel Surrenders!
Israel was conquered by the UAP on June 7, after a huge surge pretty much took out the Israeli military remaining. However, most of the military already withdrew into Turkey and Egypt, with a resistance group boiling in the area around Jerusalem and Jericho. The UAP will have a hard time 'assimilating' Israel into their 'empire'. Meanwhile, the UAP is at a stalemate with Egypt, and peace talks have begun.

The Crimson Patriots Strike Again!
This time, they plague the seas. Somehow, they got their hands dirty on several ships, probably from the scrap yard. Then, they began their 'pirating' Oil supertankers, trading ships, uranium cargoships, you name it. Over 1 million tons of goods were either taken or sunk. Over 180 ships were sunk, and 14 taken. No military ships were encountered, but there has been a drop in trade, resulting in economic loss. The hot spots are Southeast Asia, India, South Africa, US West Coast, and the Carribean seas/coasts.
