One of the historical goals is to have three sources of Dye by turn 133 or 137, not 100% sure on the exact turn. Has anyone actually done this?! I research Mathematics -> Calendar as the very first thing. Actually I trade for Mathematics to get calendar in about 10 turns after I spawn. Then I give Calendar to these idiots(Persia, Babylon, India, and Egypt) as soon as I get it. I move my galley around the cape of good hope to establish coastal trade routes, plus I give them every worker I can spare! They never have Dyes by the turn limit!
Note: I have open borders and am moving around their territory. I see they have a plantation(built by my gifted worker) on the dye. When I open the trade table(yes the trade route is established) it won't show the dyes. It will show other resources and my resources, but no dyes.
