That Army is the best thing we have going fo us right now. We could declare on the Ottomans and send in the army to pillage them to death and follow up w/ cavalry later. Alternately, we could do the same to the Gemans but it would likely cost us our continental cities. Since Germany is running away w/ power that might be a small sacrafice.

BTW, while running through Indian waters they asked me to leave. I asked about a RoP and they sighted a violation of Queen Isabella as the reason that would never happen. So our ability to purchase techs w/ gpt deals is shot right in the butt. :)

Hmmm? I thought we made war on Izzy fair, no ROP rape or anything. Ah well... got the download. Nice work getting a leader :goodjob:

0) 1675: Shift a taxman in Seoul to entertain, as Seoul will increase pop next turn. How many cities do we need for the FP?

1) 1680: Reykjavik sends a lone archer toward Trondheim. Is this all they have? We buy Replaceables from Zulus for 170 + 22/turn + map, start on Sci Meth. Zulus starting ToE. Aztecs refuse to trade Commie for Electric. Cav in Trondheim smites Archer. Move stack and army outside Reykjavik. Pyongyang switched to ironclad.

2) 1685: Russians demand territory map, we give it to them. Germany declares war on Aztecs. Can't anyone stop them? Hwacha bombard Reykjavik, Cav soften them up for the army. Army takes Reykjavik. Only one city left. Vikings have conveniently mined things for us, but we'll need to replace the tundra mines with forest. Forgot to mention--rubber sources show up outside Cheju and Copenhagen, we'll need to road them.

3) 1690: We get notices that we can build Epic and Academy. Germany has destroyers. We need warships! Viks dump off another archer outside Trondheim. I send hwacha over to redline him, and my cav in Trondheim finish. Cav attacks Bergen, redlines spear, but dies. Workers road rubber.

4) 1695: Germany signs a MA with Scandinavia of all people! Several of our cities riot due to WW. Rifle upgraded to infantry. Germans have taken several Aztec cities. I have to turn up lux as Seoul is getting hit hard with WW. Damn peaceniks!

5) 1700: India and Germany are the only countries with resources to trade and we have nothing to offer them. China and India dogpile on the Aztecs. Hwacha bombard Bergen--they have only 2 spears left. Army takes out one, rifle finishes the other--end of Vikings. Now that the war's over, my cities are full of shiny happy people and I can turn down lux and put some entertainers to work.

6) 1705: Reinforcements turn around and head for Azteca. I may be too late...

7) 1710: Istanbul builds ToE. Pyongyang builds ironclad, starts HE. Nampo starts infantry. We lose wine and silks. Trade China WM + 10 + 10/turn. We don't have enough to trade with Zulu. Aztecs won't give us Commie even when we threaten them. China and Russia like us, everyone else is annoyed.

8) 1715: Losing the silks hurts, as Seoul and Pyongyang riot. Germany destroys the Aztecs. Doesn't look like anyone can stop them. We sign an MPP with Russia. No one else will agree. We need to open an embassy with Ottomans sometime.

9) 1720: The Chinese are next on the German hit list, and India joins in. Ottomans have MPP with China, declare war on Germany. Stupid Mao tries to extort from us! We laugh at him, he backs down. The Wehrmacht breathing down his neck and he tries to bully us! :shakehead:

10) 1725: Nothing much happens. We are moving troops toward China.

Ships:
Galleon carrying cav army w of Ottomans.
Transport 2 carrying 3 cav NW of India island.
Transport 1 carrying 4 cav off coast of former England.
Troop Ship 1 empty, near Seoul.
Kon-Tiki empty, nw of Seoul
Ironclad off nw India.

Plans are to grab some of China before Germany and India do. This would mean a war with Ottomans. My successors can decline if they wish. We are 3 turns from Sci. Meth. running a slight deficit. We are falling behind in tech.

Turn 0 – Germany is just killing everyone and we have fallen behind in everything with little prospect of catching up soon. We could go after the Ottoman’s or we could try to wreck Germany with our army before they get bombers. Attacking the Ottomans just helps the Germans. Attacking the Germans will be suicide for our continental cities and even as lame as the AI is at amphibious assault all they would have to do is land a moderate force and our island cities would fall.

I’m going to start playing this game in a few hours so if you have any input please let me know your thoughts.

Also, how were we planning on winning? Diplo and culture are off so domination, conquest and space are left. Germany has ~44% of the landmass and if they swallow the rest of their continental neighbors they'll win (I don't doubt they'll also have 66% of the population).

I think going after Germany... getting what alliances we can against him would be the best bet... we'll need ships for interdiction as well to head off any amphibious assualts.

I don't think that is correct. RoP and Mil Alliances are seperate from trade (and seperate from each other IIRC).

Note that you get the ROP rep hit just by having a single exploring boat in enemy territory (no formal ROP).

JB, I don't mind if you go ahead and play, but I'd like to see if TA is coming back.

@Temp - feel free to take this one and run w/ it. I have not played any of my turns and you're due.

Our GPT abaility isn't shot yet! We are still in this!

Before I start I would like to poll the leaders of the Korean Republic. How shall we win?

I think space is just as improbable as domination but what the heck.

If we can still broker deals and get the needed techs then it's worth a shot. We'll have to pre-build all the parts to the utmost.

If we were going for domination we would only get one shot at landing forces on German soil and then hope that they didn't respond in kind. Running a bunch of pillaging cavalry under our cavalry army would have really put a dent in the German economy.

Without Dippy and culture victories, I feel Korea is really up against it. I don't see any way of slowing down the Germans militarily. Space is our best shot, but the biggest problem will be getting the resources.

I think win any way we can. Spaceship might be the only real option. As long as we can control the rubber and/or oil or at least deny them to Germany we have a chance of stopping panzers.

We will need to go after her resources, raze her towns. There isn't a hope we can defend them if we capture them. Perhaps give the towns away to the other civs. Get them to go to war with Germany that way.

Hmmm, nothing in 5 days. May I assume that this one has been abandoned?
