Caveman 2 Cosmos (ideas/discussions thread)

Just wanted to give you guys a shoutout for the long overhaul process with the Wiki. It loads almost instantly now. No lag. I know this took a lot of time over the years with all the information in it - and of course this old engine. Keep up the amazing work!
Glad you like it, I optimized a lot of the interface code back in 2017, especially the slow pedia triggered me to take action against the interface python code:
Modmod from mid 2017 eventually made its way into C2C proper around mid 2019 due to popular demand, I was pretty much scolded for keeping it a modmod for so long ^^
 
Is it possible to hide the 3D model of a resource on a city square? Just like in vanilla civilization. All those grazing kangaroos and sheep in the city center are just annoying.
 
ok now that somewhat the workers r waaay better, now we have "doctors" out of control and as before those darn "Guard Dogs)..

it has only 3 cities ,, , from beginning to end . . .

I don't see a 'export without versioned files' option when rightclicking and dragging the folder to a new folder.

Edit: i see three other svn export options but not that one.

Why is the belonging of the captured city indicated as the previous civilization, it was completely destroyed and the culture of the city of civilization of the invader is indicated as 100%?
Is this a feature of modification or a shortage?

I enjoy collecting these "captured FROM" memos, lol.
It's just a naming thing, don't worry.
I think you can even turn it off in BUG, though I rather enjoy having it on display, lol.
Um, wait, actually it MAY contribute to what REBEL civ may arise in that city, though I'm not 100% sure about it always working correctly.
Anyways, it's mostly just for bragging and nothing else.

I didn’t find such an option in the BUG menu and it’s annoying :dunno:
 
Where did the option to change MIN_CITY_RANGE go?
I really abhor the change to 4 tiles away and it takes all the fun out of it, completely, if I can't set it to the usual 3 away, or 2 between.

1. Alt+Ctrl+O (or Green Bug Icon)
2. Caveman2Cosmos (2nd Tab)
3. Minimum city distance option

: for some reason, when i want to start a new game with WORLD map, on a small map with 25 civs game stalls, waited over 10 minutes one time. wont even initialize. .

tried 20 and it worked????

Sometimes map generation glitches on higher densities (civs per map size).
Not sure why, but more than once I had to restart a map generation anew due to it getting stuck during initialization.
Just have it in mind and restart, if it makes an unusually long start.
 
Been a few years since I played C2C, two questions:

1. How is the AI doing right now? Last time I played, a few years ago, the AI had serious issues.
2. Multimaps coming, for real?

1. Might be different serious issues now, lol. Like the AI creation of tons of useless units leading to unnecessary turn lag, which still doesn't count as "actual game difficulty".
2. Very theoretically. I have a hunch that there's a bigger chance for the modern rebirth of the entire engine rather than for multi-maps happening on the old one.
