Caveman 2 Cosmos

The new work mule is supposed to be a fast worker but you can get it before sedentary lifestyle. The building required to build the unit is equine Domestication so I think the unit should need sedentary lifestyle instead. the pack mule is probably fine.

I've been playing C2C for a while now (actually while i'm writing this, my last savegame with Mongkut is loading), even i can hardly fill the system requirements (after about 5 minutes, Civilization screen appeared).
I had no crashes whatsoever, i'm quite patient so i don't mind the delay for going back into the game.

I find the mod really interesting, just by adding an extra age. I just wonder some things (that might have been asked before, sorry if they've been already answered):
Spoiler :

1st. Why unique buildings have been removed from anyone, except jivars?
2nd. Why Mongkut has three traits instead of just two? it's for the purpose of playtesting?
3rd. Maybe it's because i'm currently at settler difficulty, but i didn't have enough time of hunting for getting a good supply of animals for buildings. Also i've never managed to capture a crocodile.
4th. It is intended that exhaustion of mines and quarries happens the turn after building them or capturing an enemy city which has them?

(Now main theme, the one with lyrics, has started... XD)

5th. I'm not pretty sure ai civs are getting less mounted units, but also getting them without having access to the resources. Again, maybe this is intended.
6th. I played with archery bombardment in RoM/AND and even i activated the option for C2C, i still can manage to make appear the button for actually doing it.
7th. As soon as i got caravels, started to explore around... and islands got me some units i wasn't able to transport. Once again, maybe this is intended.
8th. Any chances on militia units to be upgradables (maybe they are, i'm not sure if i tried to do it... but maybe i did and it wasn't posible)?
9th. I probably remember something else later... XD

Yes, maybe not so few things.

Thank you for your answers and keep up the excellent work you've done this far.

Sorry to quote myself from post 2354, but it's easy to contextualize my new questions. Of course, some of the older ones where already answered but others not.

But that's not the important part, it's what i marked in big bolded blue font.

I don't exactly remember which version was there, maybe 11 or 12. Back then i really had no trouble playing Large maps on Eternity speed, now i updated to version 16 and it's hard to play on Small/Epic.

My computer is still the same, i went somewhat slow in the older version... but all in all i enjoyed the experience. What's so different in version 16 that i get crashes on larger than Small/slower than Epic?

Just want to say I really like the way resources/terrain are more important than ever in this mod, even regarding culture/unique units. I always found it odd in vanilla and other mods when your chosen civ might have a unique unit/building that just doesn't seem to match the terrain/resources you are developing. I also like the addition of more resource specific buildings which give cities near resources ability to focus on those resources and specialize that way. Dependencies of units on resources, buildings, and goods is nice as well. Although, seems like the goods implementation might need some more polish as some goods don't seem to do anything and maybe they need to be integrated into the resource display UI so you can track what you have better?

My biggest issue with the mod at this point is with the large proliferation of buildings, it becomes very unwieldy over time with the enourmous number of choices. This is theoretically good, but in practice it is vey difficult to quickly figure out what to build next. I wish there were various ways to sort the building options based on attributes of the buildings for instance, and maybe categorize them somehow.

But overally this is a great mod. Very innovative.

Just downloaded v1.6 and so far, it's all it's cracked up to be. Exception: NO ANIMALS!

Okay, to be fair, there are a few in the first dozen turns or so but by turn 100 (on Snail) I encounter nothing but Neanderthals. What good is having Hunters & Trackers if there's nothing to hunt? Am I doing something wrong (again)? Is there a setting that I can adjust somewhere to keep the critters coming a bit long like in v1.5?

Other than that, this is a great mod. Thanks! (and yes, this is my first post)

WELCOME to CivFanatics!!!!!! :band::band:[party][party][party]:banana::banana:

(Sorry had to do it.)

And so its not off-topic: Love this mod. Making some personal scenarios with it currently! Its awesome! Right now it is only current world scenario I am working on.

I got the parameters for animal spawning wrong. On my first try you got a carpet of animals 6 deep outside your borders now it is way too low. I think I have it almost right, now. However that is in the beta test version (SVN) at the moment.

IIRC There appears to be a limit on the number of resources allowed by the coding.

Hi,

Another excellent release.

One problem I'm having is that the formation of the Mormons is causing a crash. My system is reporting a failure to allocate video memory. I've a 1gb card so I can't imagine that the card is being swamped.

I've attached a save game file a few turns before the crash which is caused when I use a great person to discover Representative Democracy. (I think).

There seems to be something wrong with the movie file. Uncompress the attached and put the file in the Modules/DancingHoskuld/Custom_Religions/Mormon folder.

That should get you past the crash.

It has a lot more buildings/units/graphics assets generally now than it did then. It also has had a significant REDUCTION in memory usage from the initial load, BUT I';m unsure which of these effects is the greater (relative to like V11), so it may be that the memory footprint is larger now than it was then in net. I'll do some more memory reduction work at some point, but it's unlikely to be for a few weeks I'm afraid. I presume you're NOT running with all the optional extra civs/leaders? If you are then removing them makes a big difference.

Thank you very much for answering so quickly. I really appreciate the effort.

I just deleted version 11 (or 12) and then uncompressed the new version, so i guess i haven't installed the extra civs/leaders as it's a different file i never downloaded.

I can keep up with Small/Epic for more than a few weeks, i really liked the new features even they go too close and fast for my standard. :)

I have a problem, i can't play C2C at all, at first I narrowed it down to not being able to play on gigantic maps which I expected, but once I toned all of that down and literally stripped it down to be as basic and bland as I can it processes all of the info, but when it gets to the startup screen and displays the "what features are turned on" text it crashes and I have to crtl+alt+delete just to close it, I can't see the error messages for some reason so I can't give you those.

If anyone knows what to do please help, suggestions are welcome as well.

First are you playing as Administrator privileges?

Another newbie question from my part, looked around some but din't see an answer: i founded one of the early religions, but wasn't given the option to convert. Later, another of the early religions wspread to my parts, and I WAS given that option. I'd rather convert to mine, but see no way how to establish it as a state religion. How would it work, or is that only a random chance?

Ehhh...I can't get it to download from Megaupload, too slow. (Download either times out or doesn't come up at all) Strategy, try uploading it to Mediafire, please?...Or Dropbox, or SOMETHING other then MegaUpload

You cannot have any religion at all until you change your religious civic away from what you start with (irreligion or something like that), which means you Ned the tech for the first alternative civic. It may be that when you founded your first religion you didn't have the tech to switch civics.

Well yes obviously, the problem lies in the game itself, I can start BTS and C2C but if I try to play the game it'll process all of the information that it usually does, then crash completely when it brings up the info screen before the whole "Your civ details" thing. I can go to the menus and customize everything, I've literally stripped it down to tiny and quick, it still does this.

Use a torrent, it's much faster then any of the megaupload type sites.
