while older versions of this mod were able to run on my old 2 Gig RAM machine, the recent versions need 4 Gig at least (although I think I read about someone who made it work with 3Gig)

If you don't have enough RAM, it'll just return to desktop just like you wrote. Try older builds (don't know where to find that atm but ask someone of the team for that [note to team: might be good to have a older 2 Gig working version link available in FAQ for low end users sake])...

I have just downloaded via desura the version 27. Everything goes fine till the end of the very first turn. When I hit the end of turn it crashes to desktop. I have a 6GB memory and an i7 CPU and I am running windows 7 64 bit. Any ideas what is going wrong?

What background programs are you running or have up under C2C? I have worse specs and this only happens to me if I minimize the game, do whatever on a background program and while the CPU is running high, opening the game.

Hi.

I am about to start a new game as soon as the updated Worldmap is published and I am interested in the way my gold-income changes over the game, so I wanted to write an excel file with my income every turn and mark special events that would cause a huge inpact on it (civic changes, wonders, techs, wars...). Would it be interesting for anyone of the modders to see this table? if yes, are there any other values you would be interested in for balancing issues? (Pollution, Disease...)

The only program that is running is the antivirus. I will disable it and try to run the game again. TY

Post a savegame (if you save before it CTDs that should work) and post it in the v27 single Bug thread. Also since it's a CTD there should be in the main BtS directory (where the Bts exe is) a file called MiniDump.dmp. Zip or rar or 7z it and upload that as well as the save game .

Yes. I think that's a great idea!

@faustmouse

Gold and sciene and dont forget to add science rate.

I have tried DLing this 3 times, but each time there is no exe file in the archive. I played a past version a long time ago, and had no such problems at that time.

Any solutions?

Show the screenshot of the file you downloaded, WITH the arrow (mouse) moved over it, thx.

You need to use a different mirror.
The easiest way is to register with ModDB then look to the top right hand side of the 'Advertisment movie' download window. See here

Sorry i needed the "size" of the d/l and where you put it in what area? Also when you do an attached here at CFC, no need to make an image of it, so could you delete just the image, not the attached thx.

btw Welcome to CFC and trying C2C.:)

Thanks for your help.

'Size' of the DL, as in megabytes? Size is 952 MB (999,047,900 bytes) and size on disk is 952 MB (999,051,264 bytes).

I tried putting it in the MODS folder in my games/beyond the sword/MODS

I also tried the other directory in the main installation folder when that didn't work, which I have in drive D.

In any event, I DLed 3 times, once from a torrent file. None of them had the C2C exe file.

I tried 7zip, then tried reinstalling it, then tried another program.

Here is a screenshot of the files in the archive.

I am running windows 8, but haven't any any problems with anything else.

There is no executable for C2C.

You unzip with 7zip. Then move the unzipped caveman2cosmos folder into the Beyond the Sword/Mods folder. Said folder should be named 'Caveman2Cosmos' without version numbers etc... Keep it named that way so that you can continue to use your save games through version changes.

If you look inside the unzipped folder you should also see a short cut and a couple of short cut icon pictures to choose from as well. You may/probably will have to change the destination pointer if you use this short cut, depending on how/where you installed CIV4 & BTS. I found it easier to copy my BTS shortcut and modify it instead.

There is some other very good information here in the Player How To Documentation htread
*In particular note that you'll want to change the start era to prehistoric.

Including this link on how to enhance the short cut so that other BTS games don't mess up your c2c settings (as there are more/different c2c options).

If you are running this on 32bit system (e.g. WinXP) there are additional steps you'll want to take to ensure your OS uses the maximum 3GB possible (presuming you have 3GB of memory).

Taxman66, that was the first thing I tried. It didn't work. Keep in mind I that have used C2C in the past.
