Caveman 2 Cosmos

2. C2C works differently. (Unless it's just me ALWAYS playing "Developing Leaders", lol.) All civs are now generic (differ only in culture and leader traits, if you choose to start with those).
1/3. Text files are somewhere, but definitely not in the GAME. You could look through the XML files, but I don't know (or care) more specifically.

I have "Developing Leaders" on, too. I'm playing as Egypt. Shortly after we invented the Wheel my workers learned to buil why sometimes my workers built trails, and other times - paths. And i thought why my allies Romans (leader - Hadrian) building not trails, but paths ?

Thank you !

Depends when. You also can get a Tech from a Goodie Hut, lol.

Here's examples. As it's shown on screenshots, in some cases i can build paths, in others to build them i need Bronze Working, or Bronze Working + Road Building.

It's pretty confusing.

Can anyone explain why this happens ?

Is it bug ?

Probably ticked on the advanced routes option in game setup, which makes route types require further technology in more difficult terrain.

Like new events btw.
Y'know, I was thinking about saying the exact same thing a while back. The new events for the prehistoric era were nice since it meant you didn't get a volcano every second turn. The negative events weren't too punishing, and the positive events provided a nice boost, especially to culture.

Then the influenza event happened. I don't mean to sound rude, but seriously, what is that event. It comes out of nowhere in the prehistoric era and completely decimates your civilization. On slow gamespeeds that event is essentially just game over if it hits you.

Obviously I can just choose to not get hit by certain events if I don't want to, and in this case I just disabled that event in the xml and reloaded from an autosave, so it's not like anything was lost. But I'm now really curious about why that event is so extreme.

Lol, i did not get any influenza event. But now, i starting to have dam crushing event with -1 pop. It's annoying. But for now, this event did not pop-up so much, and cities pops did not drop so drastically.

I once got hit by it twice in a row (within 20 turns of each other) in the prehistory era and let me tell you, I was NOT a happy camper. It definitely needs some adjustments- make it rarer, give additional options, make it a chance based roll to lose population like a lot of other destruction events; something.

I once got hit by a barbarian stack very very very early in the game, city size 1, and survived. Two turns later, yes only two, another stack hit and killed my civ. I was a happy camper. Losing a game makes the next one way more exciting.

Although it is a bit immersion-breaking. It is not the weakest tribe in the area that becomes a proto-civ.

It happened often enough in history... for example the tribe of Genghis Kahn was the weakest for a while.

That must have been long before Genghis Khan. His great grandfather Khabul Khan was already the head of the Khamag Mongol confederation, and Khabul's brother Khaduli Barlas was the ancestor of Timur.
Over two hundred men had Khabul Khan as great grandfather! The tribe of Ghenghis Khan, before he got this name, and after his father died, was only three mothers and a bunch of children, including the adolescent Genghis. So probably one of the smallest tribes of that time.

So my tribal guardian has been sitting in my capital for a while and he's just been slowly gaining xp. I have no clue why. There hasn't been any combat. I do know there are a couple exiles hiding in my city because the guardian can see them, so I assume it's something to do with that, but as far as I can tell nothing is happening, he's just passively getting xp. Anyone know where it's coming from?

Also an earthquake hit me and destroyed someone else's improvements. I assume that wasn't intended but I found it funny.

Yeah, as far i see, guardians gain xp, when "investigating" about crimes. This is cool little thing.

That is the reason. The primary investigator gets a tiny bit of xp every round for making the check even if its a silent function.

You reminded me. This should be mentioned somewhere: You WASTE any investigator beyond the BEST (or "first", whatever that means) one.
I once tried to weed some criminals by piling up a bunch of investigators - and then saw that none-bar-one get any EXP whatsoever.
Imagine how PISSED off it made me, yeah?

Been lots of updates on Git, but what about updating the SVN? Sept 30th last update of the SVN.
