Thanks for your response. I think I will just start the game using viewports and learn to play that way. I had a bad experience with V28 and had to delete the game when it became corrupted using viewport mid game.
I'm going back to version 28 until the option to remove barbarians is put back in. They make the game much too hard for me with them in it.
The problem with No Barbarians was that it also removed Animals, which wrecks the Prehistoric Era.
Yeah the animals are nice for sure but is there any way to slow the spawn rate for the neaderthals and barb cities that pop up everywhere.
I did get to the ancient era I believe before the cities started popping, but then at least 3 popped up not far from my border.Have you accidentally enabled Barbarian World or Raging Barbarians? Because without one of those cities shouldn't start coming until the Ancient Era.

Raging barbs and barb world are not enabled.

There are the settings and a screen shot of 2 of the barb cities. I had already razed 1 just to the southwest of Saipan.
There are WAY too many of those cities and they get 5-6 of the latest units in them it seems like instantly. I played this game some more and the are all over the map now taking room I need for new cities. It's taking 20-30 units just to get rid of 1 city leaving me no time to go after the other civs. I hate to but I'm definetly going back to ver 28 until the option to remove the barbs is back.
I've gone through Industrial era on huge without viewports just fine. There's the occasional MAF every few hours, but it's by no means unplayable.Large, or maybe Huge. At some point you'll have to use Viewports for Huge (and maybe even Large depending how far you go), as you will only ever get 4 GB of memory for BtS becasue it is a 32bit program.
Those 2 from earlier are still there and there are 3 more fairly close together and close to my border. I know that's a good many units in one of those shots but it'll take half of them to take that city out when I was hoping to take a civ out with that group.
What do I need to do to build the Worldview Slavery? I have the Slavery tech, a Captive - Military, & my capital is a size 6 city. Am I missing something?
Woot, I've been waiting for this! (Still waiting for stable AND2 tho lol). Is it possible to update the announcement on the download page? http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=15324
It's a teensy bit annoying having to track down the forum threads of every mod to see what exactly is the latest version. I'm trying to convince some friends to give it a go, "install the game and look up the Civopedia!" isn't exactly going over well :/ Is there any way of viewing it outside of the game?
Edit:
Whoops, this thread is already linked to on the download page. Hehe, my bad. I guess the site won't let you update the post, oh well no big deal since we can just follow the link here.
