Caveman 2 Cosmos

Forgot to report one more thing, my workers were set to automate, but about 1-3 workers every turn would forget their orders and need to be reassigned to automate. I thought this was fixed a long time ago :P

I think that happens when one of the workers can be promoted. I find this slightly annoying, not being a too big friend of worker promotions anyhow...

Uhm, I upgraded a game installing the v29. The maintenance from number of cities went from about 600 to about 1350 gold per turn. This is rather... crippling.. on a huge map.
Is this wanted? Am i missing something, or is it intended as a rebalancing?

You'll still have a massive surplus even with 100% science if you pick the right civics and buildings, don't worry.

That might be true starting a new game, but right now I am sitting at -785 gold per turn XD
True, I did somehow neglect the gold buildings in favor of science, military and the like. So I can still build quite a few things. But.. it will take time and my treasury will be empty long before then. Guess it means I'll have to abandon my 100% science for a while :p

Oh right, my huge army doesn't help, but playing at deity I need it :P

That is intended. It was a bit extreme, but it was dialed down a bit before V29 was released. My suggestion to you would be to turn down your science for a little bit and build a bunch of gold-producing buildings to get your large surpluses back.

Guys, could you place a hyperlink to the official bug reporting thread(s) on the first post? I'm not sure where I can report bugs.

You might want to have a look at the top of the forum.

Your needs may be satisfied witht he already present bugs&crash subforum.

Are you talking about in the FAQs thread? Because I did forget to update that with the new link. I'll go do that now.

I've googled and tried to search the forum, but haven't seen an answer to this one. I started playing Caveman 2 Cosmos the other day and the game started as Always War. I started a new game to check on this, and the check box for Always War was not in the options. Hmmm. Tried the BUG, but couldn't find how it was turned on or off there. Is this something to do with Advanced Diplomacy? I don't have permanent war checked, so that's not it. Why would the Always War option be on, but there's no check box in options when I start the game? Any thoughts?

Can you please take a screenie of YOUR setting on the game thx.

here's an attached screenshot...i restarted, and still got "always war" but in the custom game options, there's no "always war" button to check or uncheck...I'm wondering where it went?

Doesn't make sense?

Code:
<GameOptionInfo>
            <Type>GAMEOPTION_ALWAYS_WAR</Type>
            <Description>TXT_KEY_GAME_OPTION_ALWAYS_WAR</Description>
            <Help>TXT_KEY_GAME_OPTION_ALWAYS_WAR_HELP</Help>
            <bDefault>0</bDefault>
            <bVisible>0</bVisible>
        </GameOptionInfo>

OK just found out there is a way to make stuff the way YOU want it with the NEW WB from Playtyping that AIAndy merged.

Go into the WB and under game options UNcheck Always at War, should work.

When switching mods Civ sometimes does a bad setup of the custom game options that can set hidden options (that are supposed to be off).
Starting a game by Play Now can clear that (and you can do a custom game as normal afterwards).

The new world builder strategyonly mentions is only in the SVN version.

ah, that makes sense. I thought it might be something like that because I was switching between mods. I'll let you know how it turns out. I've been playing and replaying the caveman era and getting quite a kick out of it, and then this happened out of the blue. cool, thanks!

worked like a charm, thanks guys...now if only I can keep those dang Moa birds from eating all my clubmen, i'll be fine. Great mod so far (only made it partway into caveman days, but looking forward to the rest, too!)...
here's a question. Default mode turns of Revolutions and barbarian civs... is that just a preference, or is there a reason behind it?

There is much carnage and conflagration whenever defaults are debated. Much blood and tears are shed, and there have been fatalities in the past.

Please set your favourite settings using "Custom Game". Let defaults work themselves out over the eons by virtue of continental drift...the way Nature intended.

I get nightmares just thinking about the alternative...:eek:

I feel like this is a stupid question but do I have to reload the mod every time I start the game? Is there not a way to have the mod permanently loaded? I ask because it takes several minutes to load the mod each time and while it's only an annoyance I am getting kind of tired of it.

Hmmm what happened to the "No Barbarians" option when starting a custom game? I cleaned out my saved options, and now its missing...
