Caveman 2 Cosmos

Yes I can and the standard mods (like Charlemagne) work too. I already tried to run as admin. I'm going to try with 3.19 patch

Hi, yeah the game has to be v. 3.19 . I think it says somewhere, yeah in the end of the first post in this thread. Easy mistake. Happy gaming :)
Yeah theres alot of different settings, maybe you should check those out a bit before jumping in. But fail and error works too :)

Is there a way (perhaps through BUG) to remove the penalty for building more than a certain number of cities for a particular government type once the game is under way?

Options can be changed mid-game in the worldbuilder.

Hey guys great mod, definitely one of the best mods for any game.

1 problem i ran into though, the AI doesn't seem to be settling any new cities, only conquering existing ones.

the AI has a lot of settlers (i added more just incase) and everyone has the needed techs.

what could cause this? could it be an option i turned ? thx in advance

Are you playing with the newest SVN version or with the official download version?

Recently, a problem was found with AI being lazy on founding cities. An attempt to fix this made it even worse I recall. But I THINK this issue was fixed just a couple of hours ago.

Hi,

What is the easiest way to slow down general research in game in C2C mod?
I have noticed that changing a game speed for marathon give me more techologies VS produced building in prehistoric era than in faster speeds. I wish to play longer with every era

I believe that in this thread there could be an answer, but querry by "research" give me 10 pages of results (with replies).

Assets/XML/Gameinfo/Civ4EraInfos.xml

Two ways in this one:
Either slightly lower the iResearchPercent values. These are directly corresponding to how much you get from your research. 100 is all, 100%, so if you have 100 beakers you gain 100 towards your research. 50 is half, 50%, so of 100 beakers per turn you would only gain 50 towards your research.
Or increase the iTechCostModifier (BBIA modifier). This modifier adds this percent to the total cost for all techs in the age changed though be careful not to increase this value too much as it increases fast. 50 means 150% cost, 200 means 300% cost, or 3 times as long to research anything.

Cheers

I see that this is managed in quite interesting way for every era with this balance of iResearchPercent & iTechCostModifier parameters. I didn't know it:)

Thanks BlueGenie. It's working ;)

At the moment, the ratio between building and tech is the same with each game speed (thanks Alberts2!)

This is a good basis to work off of from here.

So if the experience of this actually means that the longer the game speed setting the faster the techs in relation to building stuff, then perhaps we should gradually lower the iResearchPercent values with each lengthening game speed. The ratio changes this way but if we can hit it right it will change it in the proper direction and the proper rate of variation.

Hi folks,

when do you probably expect a release of Version 36 ?

Any idea ?

Thanks and keep going on this outstanding work/mod.

regards onkelm

How is this installed? I can not get it to show up in my list of mods.

How long did you wait for it to load, the 1st time you install COULD take up to 10 minutes to load, then after that less than a minute (if you leave your PC on that is). .

It does not show up as a loadable mod. And it does not install in it's own seperate folder in the mods folder like the regular version 35 does.

I figured out that you need to manually make the new folder before extracting this. And by the way, it come up the first time in around ONE minute.

- create directory Caveman2Cosmos in your Beyond the sword mods directory
- unpack downloaded file to this new directory
- run game and in menu choose Advanced then Load Mod
- play
