CCTP Working Version Progress

hey all, at last found a really interesting mod for Civ 5. Maybe I will start playing it at last.(After one test game went back to Civ4 with C2C mod....).
First of all, I noticed note on first post in bold, that artists are needed. Well, I ma not too much of an artist, but I would gladly help with art for the mod. A note here: probably some art from C2C could be reused here providing appropriate credits?

Also, I found Gilgamesh's posts regarding having tough time keeping track of various changes especially since this whole mod is definitely way too big for one or even few people.
I think using SVN repository would help quite a lot. C2C modders are doing exactly that and it helps to backtrack any changes that sometimes causes bugs and also helps avoid people working to resolve issues that are already resolved, as any changes can be committed very quickly.

To be honest only a little & value of the art inlcuded is done by my self.
The most work is done from the community. We got still many pictures that are implented but only place holders.
Also some cool features like white rabbit that arnt working but amazing to look.
Also the complete art files could need a rework since they blast the loading time due to many loads.

We got github and the all members of CCTP used that for sharing data and updates, sadly my account is not realy getting uptodate due a problem that brags synchronisation. (ether my internetconnection or system are causing this i spend hours into this only to get always the same error/bug so i left it due frustration).

IIRC Horem uploaded the last CCTP version on his account.

Its a good idea to bring this back;)
 
Hey Gilga, just wanted to say I'm loving this mod so far! Thanks for all your hard work in maintaining it, I pretty much don't play Civ without this anymore. Any word on when we might get the next update?

For the next version, i cant give you any ETA, your best chance of the latest version is the rebuild version here on civfanatics.

Ah, yes, I've already sunk too many hours into the rebuild, gyogen has done a great job with it. And thanks for the warm welcome, I made an account just to post in this subforum :P

Just wondering, is there anything I can do to help out with this modpack right now? I don't have much programming experience but I have plenty of time to learn, especially over the summer.
 
Gilgamesch, could you add in the new version CCTP more diplomatic and trade options? For example, selling discovered technology, etc.
And maybe you could add alien invasion and technology theme...
 
Great mod, many thanks to the authors!

Unfortunately, something wrong is in my case - I've installed CCTP v4.04 and Various Mods DLL v53 - I can't choose any civ when starting a game, then the game misses some textures and turn timer ('normal' pace) is obviously crashed - turn 118 - 1800 AD :(.

Could someone pls tell me what I did wrong?
No other mods active, cache cleaned, all DLCs onboard.
 
you should be able to chose any civ from the advanced startup.

Some of the other issues with the original version have been fixed in the rebuild. As far as turn timer I personally haven't used it, so I'm not sure of problems with it, Gilga may know.

BTW, which textures are missing, in the rebuild, I found some missing graphics, but just wondering if I missed some.
 
So a few notes.

*My working version is still buggy and iam out of clue how to fix it soon.
This doesnt mean it will not come, i just have to think of adding my work so far into the rebuild (yes good work mate:D).

* This would be the fasted method, otherwise i have to redo so many things, and i dont got the time for it.

*Also iam not really uptodate, with the progress on Civfanatic, this means i will need to check, what need to be replaced and updated.

*Machiavelli send me a message that some of his lua files where reworked, and since we use the old ones, i need to get a look at it and so on.

*While advanced policies is now working, we can add new policy trees to the game, still a big part, we have icons , policies and all that stuff from older versions and it would be a shame if all that hard work from the community, would not find there way into CCTP again.

*Also a lot of translation need to be done, many techs/buildings still got there placeholder names.

*New improvements (most vanilla stuff)

*New resources like Obsidian for the early eras.

*New eras, big part many lua files need to by rewritten.

*Some of Whowards great addones like, riverconnection will also be implented.

*Adjusting of the current timeline.

*And so on, i just wrote it, so that you can see a lot of work is done, but there are still many parts under work.

So first i will implend the new technologies and there prerequest.
Then adding the buildings/wonders that are waiting so long to be in this Mod.
Also adding some resources and expanding the Manpower and Electricity in CCTP.
Some little changes here and there, most of them related to balance the game more.

I had a delay but I am once again working on the text entries for the game. Will have a bunch to turn over to you guys in the near future.

As far as translations go, I speak German at a business level so I should easily be able to translate to English anything you put in there Gilgamesh :p As I come across anything German in the text files, I'll just go ahead and change that.

Do you want me to hand them over to Gilgamesh or to Gyogen when I get a batch done?

Gyogen is the the one who looks over my shoulder and finds all this nasty bugs i missed)
So ether you can attach your files to your post or send them to both of us.
I will implend all my work done so far, then send Gyogen the files so he can look over it.
So i can blame someone for me work, :lol: just kidding.
Maybe to many coffee and red bulls, but i need this to go ahead.:D

New improvements added.

*Tippi buildable on planes and grass land.

*Wajo buildable only on coast

*Motte Baily buildable on forests, will remove them.

This improvements are from the vanilla game and come with there own graphic.
So thats said, they need some little adjusting and maybe new prerequested technologies.

Finally i managed to get the first old CCTP policies back into the CCTP Neo.
This means they will return with the upcoming build.

So its still a big part, rewritting, balancing and to implend the icons.

But hey it works.:eek:
 
Thanks to Gyogen we have finally a new era (Preancient).
Hell the first new since years.

But we would need some help with the three icons for the popup window.
So if anyone of the art guros is reading this please help us , we are noobs in art work.
 
Not a great solution, the screeni was taken from my second monitor, while in window mod.
But you can see we did it. Ok only three new policies so far but this is just the beginning.
With the next version of CCTP we will get a lot of changes and fixes.
Hopefully the long time you waited will be over soon.:crazyeye:

What if you have added more than 9 possible religion? It would be interesting.

That is actually easy to do. In the civvworlds file there is this line:
<MaxActiveReligions>7</MaxActiveReligions>

I have played with as many religions as there were civs(used strange religions mod for extras). If Gilga wants to add I'd be glad to write an update file. Might could even add as a choice when setting up game.
