CCTP Working Version Progress

DLL mods do not work with Mac. I suggest that you get WINE on your Mac and install Steam and Civilization V that way. It does led to occasional random CTDs but on the whole it is very good for my purposes.

I'm sure they work, how to check this ?
And Wine version isn't so fast as Aspyr's version.

Hey Gilga, Just wondering if you had a approximate guess when you'd be uploading next version. I'm not trying to rush you, just if it was to be fairly soon I didn't want to waste a lot of time tracking down issues with this version (especially since you've probably already found and fixed them).:D

Sorry i got no ETA, i dont wannt to try to give a date just to not disappoint you.
I totally understand the meaningless of fixing things that are done.

Its more that i cant motivate myself to work on CCTP.
Its not that i tried it, but i lost the fun for CiV and therefore its hard for me to work on this.

Especially when i have to struggle in RL with so many things that are more important for me and my live.

When you realy like to help with bugfixing i could send you my modbuddy project, so that you can get a look at it.

Its frustrating when you lost progress and cant reseruct them.
I tried many things even Whowards Modtool, but ether iam unlucky or just unskilled.
So thats why i started NeoCCTP, but for some reasons this is now much more complicated then before.

Dont get me wrong this is still a alpha with untested features, anyway i got more hours this year in modbuddy then ciV.

Time ago Chrome asked my if i would like to help in CCTP and i answered iam just a dude who mod for them self, then he left.

Today i know he was searching for someone that can continiuou this mod, but after more then a year i feel the same as he felt.

This Mod is getting to large that one guy (in my case a nonprogrammer) can do all the work that is needed.

For more infos send me a pm.;)

Hohenzollern crashing game is related to Whoward69's dll various mods and components 34 civs. I'm not sure what is causing it, but it only crashes when I have that mod installed.

Never tried that 34 civs component, but do you mean the included features from whoward in CCTP are causing ctd?

no, it's only when I use the separate mod. I'm not sure what's in it that causes a crash with just that one wonder.

BTW, just checking, wasn't sure if you got pm.

Jip i recieved it:=)

Iam running modbuddy right now, try top get it working.....

But even with my beast pc every new build takes minutes and thats mean i need some time to start and check the logs.

At the current state it fails while starting the game, when i fixed this i will upload my project files to dropbox and send you a pm.

On another sidenote, while you doesnt have the inca dlc, i think this will also creates bugs since the terrace farm is now avaible for all players.

And about hohenzollern, i dont see any relation between 34 civs and this wonder, i have no clue.

Hi, I've started several games in industrial era and all of them crash at some point during a certain civ's turn. I don't know if it's related to that wonder you are talking about.
This time i used RED modpack and End in 1945 mods ( this one by mistake ).

I started this game with some minor mods adding new civs too, but i only used vanilla civs ingame. I even removed everything but CCTP and tried again with my saved game, but it crashes all the time with that AI civ when changing turn. I'm sure it's something the AI builds, it doesn't happen in the previous turns or during other civ's turn. Just in that very moment.

Tell me if i can upload any useful file you might need.

The wonder was a renaissance wonder, and the problem seems to have been a conflict with 34 civ dll.

You could always upload your database.log. I started a game in industrial era to check(wanted to see if I saw anything before I responded), and went through about thirty turns w/o problem. I then used IGE to add every building up to that era just to see if a particular building was causing your crash.
I'll try to test a few more things, do you happen to know about how many turns it took before crash, and possibly which civ?

BTW I wasn't sure if you were using the fix I had uploaded (possible fix thread), and whether you had had this problem before or after.

I tried several times w different civs and couldn't reproduce crash. I wuld need mor info. If you wanted to upload save I could see if I could try to load it and test. Also when you removed everything, did you also clear cache and moduserdata?

Hi i too had an issue with that wonder Hohenzollern castle and i play with 43 civ dll. I used ige as well to test and see if indeed that wonder was the cause of the crashes and indeed it was. Playing a new campaign right now when i get to that same point again I'll let you know what transpires. But i am almost very certain that wonder is the issue. There is a conflict somewhere.

I was talking about a different crash in that post, the conflict with the wonder seems to be related to the dll. The only time I've had it crash is with a dll that enables more than 22 civs. I've tested it with Whowards regular dll and with no dll at all and no crashes. Still haven't figured out why though. Could you try it without the 42 civs and see if still crashes. Thanks.

Aww i see okay yeah sure thing I'll try out a new campaign with out the 43 civ dll and see what transpires. I'll keep you posted.

Found the problem, I'll upload it in the fix. it was with the free units. If you don't want to use fix, just look in CCTP_BuildingFreeUnits.xml and remove:
<Row>
<BuildingType>BUILDING_HOHENZOLLERN</BuildingType>
<UnitType>UNIT_GERMAN_LANDSKNECHT</UnitType>
<NumUnits>3</NumUnits>
</Row>
Edit: I replaced UNIT_GERMAN_LANDSKNECHT with UNIT_PIKEMAN and that seems to work.

hey all, at last found a really interesting mod for Civ 5. Maybe I will start playing it at last.(After one test game went back to Civ4 with C2C mod....).
First of all, I noticed note on first post in bold, that artists are needed. Well, I ma not too much of an artist, but I would gladly help with art for the mod. A note here: probably some art from C2C could be reused here providing appropriate credits?

Also, I found Gilgamesh's posts regarding having tough time keeping track of various changes especially since this whole mod is definitely way too big for one or even few people.
I think using SVN repository would help quite a lot. C2C modders are doing exactly that and it helps to backtrack any changes that sometimes causes bugs and also helps avoid people working to resolve issues that are already resolved, as any changes can be committed very quickly.
