Well, if you put "Leader" in your title (user title, not thread, I mean like where it says "Indescribable" for me), it censores it. Why is this?

Because it can be used as 'Forum Leader' i.e. someone posing as one of the mods or as an admin.
Same reasoning as for why 'mod' is censored.

Obviously mods will be allowed to use it; to identify ourselves. Moderators have their own grouping in the forum system, with certain features attached.

How kind of you ainwood...I take it TF can edit specific people's titles and avatars, like for example, once Gobi Bear had his first post, his title was "Breakaway Games," and his avatar was the Breakaway games icon. I wonder if mods can do that...
