The Census office would like to change the format of the raw-file used to generate the statistics and the text summaries to ms-access instead of excel. As we do not know wheter some citizens use this file, we brought up this poll to ensure this is acceptable for the majority of citizenry.

Advantages of the change:
* Easier administration
* Incorporation of Citizen-Group- and Citizen-registry in one file.
* Other summaries will be possible which are impossible now
* Easier administration of Provinces
* Some day better inplementation of a web-registry on a civ3-demo webpage
* Text-Summaries and Statistics wont be affected
Disadvantages:
* If someone uses the Excel file he will have to use Access now.

This poll is informational and up for 5 days till sunday.

Thats what i want to find out. As ic from the download-counts, the file is not downloaded very often. I will also have to check usability (file-size for example). I hope most ppl use the text-summary for reference and dont use the excel one.

btw:
originally, the excel-version was only for me to bring it home from work without having to use diskettes or mail ;-)

Microsoft Access is a database program. You'll have it if you have one of the Office Professional packages or if you bought Access by itself. If you have Office Small Business or lower you won't have it.

well, i again want to state the the info will still be available as raw-text as it is now. just that the more detailed info will be in excel.
